Ok, here's the deal. While I was in Jamaica recently, I found a quiet part of the resort that had 2 pool tables. When the wifey was in bed, I would pop in a shoot for a few hours. Let me tell you, Carribean humidity takes a toll on felt and sticks...lol. They were rough to say the lest. Here's a pic...
While playing one night a young security guard (Marlon, he's 17) popped his head in to see why someone was in the building. When he saw it was a guest he apologized and said he would stand on guard. I invited him to come in and play, but he said he couldn't while on duty. He literally stared at me for hours as I was practicing and running balls on the table.
Well, after a few nights, he finally decides to shoot with me, and we had some great battles. This kid could play, but he had no training, and he told me he would play on an old table at this friends house. Real diamond in the rough this kid. While I was giving him some lessons, I asked him what would he would like most for Christmas, he surprised me...
He said he dreamed of having his own cue that was straight, with a good tip on it. I swear, I almost broke down in tears...Ok, here's my offer:
I have 2 project cues I never ended using. One Dufferin, and one Schmelke. I am willing to donate one cue to a cuebuilder, on the promise of reconditioning the other cue which will be given to Marlon. Finish is ok on both cues, but they will need new ferrules, tips, and the buttcap repaired on the Dufferin. I will let the cuebuilder decide which they would like to keep, and which will go to a poor, young man in Jamaica and hopefully inspire him. Yes, I did get his address, but did not tell him why. Here is a link to the cues:

I will accept having the reconditioned cue shipped back to me, or sent directly to Jamaica. If someone steps up to the plate (I hope), we can work this out. Someone, please step up and help me help a wonderful young man.
Here's a pic of Marlon:
Looking forward to hearing from someone!
