My Buddy Dave is going to be a Commissioner this year again for the Arizona Senior Olympics

The Pool Event has never has a Good Turnout, or Participation, Compaired to all those over 50 who Play Pool.

The event is 8 Ball, Race to Three, Double Elimination, with 1st., 2nd., and 3rd. Place Finishers getting a Medallion.

Age group are separated by SEX, and are 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and over 80 YEARS YOUNG. Think last year there was less than 100 Participants in all 8 Group, and the Entry FEE was $15.00.

Told my Buddy that most Pool Players IMO would rather spend $15.00 to enter a Tournament with a CASH/Money Prize. As the better players are more competitive than want to win a Medallion.

Why do they need the 15 dollars to begin with? If it's a charity, than make it a suggested $15 donation. Most guys aren't going to play in a tournament for a medallion and pay for it. But most people are charitable and would donate the money, possibly more than $15, and than play for the medallion as a bragging rite.

As an adult I don't like the idea of someone getting all the cash other than the winner.

I am over 50 and would rather have the money. I don't need another dust collector, am trying to get rid of a lot a junk now. I don't pick up any more free key chains, pens, lighteres, cups etc. Got a whole house full of useless junk. If anything all I need is a picture showing that I won.

I'm over 50...I'd enter just to play. Winning a medallion is no big thing...as TheBook said it's just another dust collector. If I didn't want to keep it, I could just throw it out.

Hell I wouldn't win anyway so I wouldn't care what the prize was. I'd just like to play against similar aged people. That's why I enter the seniors (or does he call it masters) thing at Valley Forge. It cost a lot more than 15 bucks and I'm usually out early, but at least I'm not dealing with a bunch of kids. (No disrespect meant kids)
