Need Generally-Accepted Pool Room/Pool Table House Rules

Hello:

This question probably falls into the category of pool room or pool table management. I belong to a local Elks lodge which has a single pool table in the rear of a large members-only lounge. I have been asked to develop a set of simple house rules for use of the pool table.

My question is, can anyone provide or direct me to a site that has such a set of rules?

(Please note: We do not need rules about behavior, drinking, gambling, smoking, foul language, etc., because they are covered elsewhere under general rules of the lodge. Similarly, we do not need the ordinary game rules for pool or billiards because those are known or available to the players.)

What I believe we need is a set of generally-accepted pool and billiard room house rules that address table use, table sharing and game play. The rules should probably address:

1.) The recommended time limits for use of a table when others are waiting;

2.) The procedure for a new player to challenge and join an ongoing game;

3.) The procedure for a new set of players to signal that they are waiting to use the table; and

4.) The need to clean up the table and immediate area, to include storing the cue sticks, balls, rack, shutting off the table light, etc.

Similarly, the such rules should address improper gameplay or inappropriate use of the table, cue sticks, balls or racks which could risk damage to the table or annoy other members using the lounge.

I would take anything you can provide and edit it to match our situation. But it would be great to find a pre-existing set of generic rules that we can start with.

Thanks for your help, and let me know if you need a fax number.
