Need help identifying a cue! Trying to buy!

not a quality cue

Do not buy this cue!! You’re better off getting a cue tech than that thing... the reason is all the metal rings you see are joints and they come apart meaning poor hit and vibrations... not to mention the ramon wood shaft...not a hard rock maple shaft. I also believe they are screw on tips that you buy at wall mart or k mart

I agree 100%. And also the reverse. Knowing cues very well does not make one an ace on the table. You can even make world class cues without being a world class player.

That's why I cut that critical part out of my quote.

.

Problem with this guy is if he is indeed a "sponsored" player, he would have spent countless hours around the pool hall, other players, and the pool world. I'm far from being a "sponsored" player, but I knew a crappy cue when I saw it after just a few years playing casually.

You would think someone who is good enough to play with a Philipi (i.e. played extensive, competitive pool for at least a few years) would know the difference. 95% of league players wouldn't be caught dead with a cue like that.

He's sponsored by some cue shop inside his local mall, and his version of sponsorship might just be $20 in free stuff in exchange for wearing a tshirt. Not like a big time sponsorship from a reputable company.
