Can anyone give me any info on this cue? I was told it's in mint condition.

What makes you say it is a Helmstetter?

I would like to see the joint face and the bumper close up please.

And welcome to the forum!

Oh, and that's kind of a precarious position for a cue. I am thanking the pool gods it's not a valuable cue. ;)

I have searched in all my books for about 20 minutes. Can't find it......yet.

Well, the ringwork looks like some of the Raymond Calvert cues made by Adam. Helmstetter cues were made by Adam. Adam Stamboulini used those rings too I think.

Same ringwork:

Adam didn't often use such ringwork AFAIK.

Does it say Helmtetter on it? Is there any marking on it?

That ringwork was also used by Slyfoxx, Mizerak Dove logo cues, Cobra cues, Sierra cues, and others of the same manufacture. Also Asian cues. The best of them are about as good as an Adam, which is pretty good, but most of them were "K-Mart cues".

So, any more pics or anything about markings on the cue?

Jayman might know. Is he still active here?

IMHO this is a later cue if it's an Adam, maybe 90's?

It has sharp points, looks like 18 thread pin....ringwork could be Adam.....just don't remember seeing that model before.

Looks like "chopdoc" hit it on the nose with Raymond Calvert. Some of these cue guys on this forum never cease to amaze me

Yup. A Calvert cue.

And the date is on it of course. The cue was made in Japan by Adam Cues. I saw one in the pool hall last week and the guy tried desperately to convince me that Helmtetter himself signed it. The signature is a decal under the finish.

What more do you want to know? Value?

I would buy it for the right price if you have the correct shaft and it's straight.

But the cue isn't "mint". There are some minor finish issues. But it does look to be in very good general condition...assuming it is straight.

You can private message me if you want to sell it. I would consider it. I do collect Adam cues some.
