Need help - pin on break cue got loose from butt

I can't believe no one has helped you here.
Take your butt to your nearest friendly neighborhood cue repair person and they'll take care of it.
It's a simple fix. They will pull the pin, clean out the old glue, and then re-glue the pin, making sure it is dead straight. Shouldn't take more than a day, or two.

thanks for your reply

but in my area, even country, there is absolutely no cue maker, I am thinking of sending it to the US along with another playing cue of mine for refinish, and I would need some recommendations on the cuemakers

I already asked Bob Flynn of Denali cues for his advice, he doubt it would be somewhat complicated than just the glue and pin, and he reckoned only experienced cue makers or repairmen can fix this entirely.

If the joint screw has stripped the threads, you may have to have the butt cored & a new piece of wood inserted. Then have the pin re-inserted. Not too difficult a job for a 1st class Cuemaker....

Guido Orlandi is my choice.

Yep. The hardest part, for you, may be finding a cue maker. Can you locate a copy of the Blue Book of Cues?

Hi

I need your help and advise on a problem on my cue.

I have a custom break cue, with 3/8-10 pin and it has been a monster breaker. in last night's playing session, I noticed a problem with the pin, it got loose from the butt, I tried screwed the butt and shaft together and never felt tight, until I unscrewed and realised the pin has been pulled up couple of mm from the butt.

It has gotten loose for sure. It is likely that the threads were stripped or worn out on the butt.

I intend to ship it to the US for a repair, and may include 1 more cue for refinish also.

can you please give me some recommendations? who would be great for this kind of fix, and a refinish also?

thanks a lot.

Cuong.

I always see people reccomend Scot at Proficient Billiards.
:p

Ryan at Meuller's (Rat Cues, if I'm not mistaken) is highly spoken of with regards to cue repair. Perhaps you can get in touch with him?
