Need help with the points on old Adams cue.

I have an older Adams cue. The points on the cue are real nice, real sharp and almost 18" long. I like the cue.
The issue with the cue is that there is some separation starting between the veneers on the points and the maple forearm on the cue. I can slide a piece of shim stock into the crack at a depth nearing the bottom of the forearms original pocket.
My question, how should I deal with this separation between the point veneers and the maple forearm?
How should I fill the crack or separation? The two cracks aren't wide at all but they are fairly deep.
To be clear, there is no isue with breakage or damage, just separation of the original materials.

Thanks,
Eddie

The points, of coarse, need to be re glued. If you are going to try to do this yourself then, probably, the easiest way is to weep some thin super glue under the veneers and press the point back into the pocket for a short time and then cleaning the excess off of the prong. The correct way would be to clean under the veneers as best as possible and then a thin epoxy applied underneath and the points held in place until dry and then the cue refinished.
