Need shaft for vintage cue (Brunswick?)

I have an older brass joint cue with no name (Brunswick?), not expensive but I would like to use it if I can get shaft made for it without spending too much money. Original shaft is warped.

5/16x14 threads - Schon/Joss joint protector fits in the shaft, but the threads on the butt joint aren’t long enough to make contact with butt joint protector.
I assume this would be the same shaft as the Brunswick Titlist???

Any suggestions on the most affordable source for getting a decent straight shaft made for this cue?

If you want an exact match you can buy an inexpensive partial shaft. Then have any one of the hundreds of cue makers fit it. If you want a quality shaft fitted prepare to spend $200 +-.

I am impressed by the players, pure X ( less than $100 for LD shaft) or OB res for cheap shafts. If there is something special about the shaft insert it could be extracted or copied from the original.

I recommend the ask the cue maker thread section sub forum (in AZ Billiards). Cheers

most any shaft you can find will fit it if the threads are the same. it would better if it had a deeper fit like your old shaft.
the shaft may be a tiny bit thicker or thinner at the joint but that doesnt matter,

lots of cheap shafts on the net someplace or medium priced ones from the dealers,

Would a Schon shaft work even though the brass part on shaft doesn’t extend as deep as the wood at the end of the original shaft and the pin on mine is not as long as a Schon?

Could someone make a shaft from my photos if I got a caliper reading at the joint end of the shaft?

Sorry, I apologize for my lack of proper terminology and knowledge here.

I think I have a pile of older BW shafts that should fit perfect. I’m out playing tonight, will check my stash at home and let you know tomm. ✌️

Unless you are attached to that cue for history or something, for not much more than a new shaft you can buy a full new cue. In fact less if you go with a McDermott Lucky or Star cue, or a Viking Valhalla. The McDermott's use pretty good shafts even with their cheap cues, not LD but good hit feel and wood quality, and a Lucky cue is under $100. A new plain US Made McDermott that looks a lot like yours can be found used for under $200 or about $300 new. Players PureX line is great for the price with an LD shaft, but I prefer McDermott for the 3/8x10 pin which is easier to find shafts for.

Sorry for the delay. Someone gave me a box of old beater vintage shafts. The two best ones need new ferrules & tips, but they are both straight and the joints/collars are in good shape. They fit Brunswick WH cues with brass 5/16-14 piloted pins & should fit yours. The lighter color one is in nice shape, will make a nice playing shaft with a bit of TLC. You’re welcome to both of them for free, just cover shipping cost which ahould just be $25 or so. PM me if you want them. Cheers
