Ok, I know a lot of people have asked about the comparisons between the different "specialty" shafts that are out now, but I need another comparison between the X-shaft by Tiger Products and I.C.E. shaft's by McDermott.

If you haven't tried them yourself but know some who has, that'd help too. Ok...I lied. I need one more between the Z shaft by Predator and McDermott's I-3. I've been told that this is McDermott's answer to the Z shaft. Now if this comparison has already been done, could you give a link to it? Thanks again guys and gals.

By the looks of it, the McDermott is probably more durable than the weak ferruled Predator Z. You can get them in the same 11.75 mm tip size too.

Most of what your asking is just a matter of personal preference. As a retailer I have tried all of the shafts you have mentioned and IMO the X-shaft is the best of the bunch and is what I now play with.

My advise it to go and try to hit each of the shafts yourself and make your own decision.

What are you looking for in a shaft? The predator and ice shafts have a lot less deflection which can be good for breaking or if you have a problem hitting the cueball dead center. The tiger x-shaft plays more like a standard shaft. If you like to use english a lot you should maybe go with the Tiger. It really depends on how you play, what feels right to you and what you intend to use the shaft for (break or play). The Tiger,Cuetecs, flat laminates(Meucci) and regular radial laminates all play closer to what a regular shaft will play. Pred and ICE play a good bit different than a standard shaft. I have no idea how the new Universal Smart Shaft plays. Many people don't care for the ferrule on predators (another thing to keep in mind).
