Need some expert motor advice.

They look pretty similar to me. The only major difference is in the motor mount. The cradle style might be a little quieter with less vibration, and maintenance (removing the motor) would be a little different (possibly easier in some installations where access to the base plate is difficult).

Need to buy a motor and I am looking at Granger. Here are two motors I am looking at that look to be almost identical, almost. Is there a reason I would consider paying $70.00 more for one of these motors over the other?

Assuming that both mounting systems and shaft lengths will work adequately for your purpose, buy the cheaper one. The most important information provided under the specifications that differs is the service factor. The larger the number the better and the cheaper motor is actually a stronger motor in this instance with a true max hp rating of .8625 at specified voltage and current. But if the manufacturer specified the hp of the motor at 69/80 not many people would buy it and marketing 101 for motors was born.

Is there a reason you are limiting yourself to split phase motors? If you can use a capacitor start and run motor you could get a continuous duty motor in the same price range as these unspecified duty (light duty) motors. Like this one:

Thanks for your input his stuff can get pretty confusing. The more expensive one is lower amps and weighs less. Why would one draw 2 amps less/more to put out the same power? Maybe the extra amps also add to the service factor number. You would think there must be a significant reason for that much difference in price and almost knee jerk want to buy the more expensive one. Would one of the two have a longer life expediency based of the information? I need to order it by Thursday to pick it up on Friday because they don't have weekend hours.

They don't have the same power output. They have the same published rating for simplicity in comparison. They both have at least 3/4 hp and less than 7/8 hp so they are called 3/4 hp motors. The cheaper one is actually a .8625 hp motor. .75 hp rating multiplied by the 1.15 service factor.

The difference is significant to the manufacturer and distributor but irrelevant to you as an end user. Supply and demand dictates the price not just the cost of manufacture.

Nope. Both are light duty motors and should have a similar life expectancy. The higher hp motor (cheaper of the two) wouldn't generate as much heat under a heavy load and may very well last longer as a result. If life of the motor is of great concern buy the continuous duty motor I linked to above. You will have to buy the start and run capacitor also but it will last a lot longer than either of these split phase motors will.
