Need some good side pocket drills.

I take the visual approach. In cuts to the side, there is no cushion to guide the eye / channel the shot. Therefore:

Take your stick and make sure you know the swath.
You know, I found something that works and maybe what you are saying about channeliing the shot is why. If I keep my left bridge arm straight I shoot them fine. I was shooting breakshots even and thin cuts in the side fine last night and this morning. Very happy with my pocketing. I am not entirely sure why that is. I guess it is all just more locked in. Maybe it has to do with sight, as I would be a little further away that way. I have strange vision. Near sighted in my left eye and far sighted in my right eye. My optometrist said that it depends what my dominant eye is, as I naturally just shift between what is needed. I don't wear contacts or glasses.

Across all the shooting methods players use, I think sighting and "knowing" the physical margins tends to clear the fog a bit. The shooter will then strike the shot without all the mysterious issues of tentativity.
