need some help from you Mass pool players

Does anyone know of a guy that goes by the name of Greg Chick from Quincy area? I ran into him tonight and couldn't get a good read on him. He told me he was looking for a game $100 or better, so I asked if he wanted to play right now and he said no and drove off.
I'm not a $100 a set or better player but I know a few players that would. I just don't want to set anyone I know up with some killer.

No way Koop, Dave wouldn't mess with somebody's action on his deathbed. He'll leave the two of them to figure it out for themselves.

Greg Chick ha dont know the name but there a plenty of people out there that dont use there real names lol

Then again there are plenty of stiffs (myself included) that will play anyone in the world for a $100 a set if I feel up to it at the moment.

Where are you writing from and what does the guy look like. I am not going to kill anyones action but would love to know who it really is lol or isnt lol.


(By the way I do know a few Greg's out there and would play any of the 100 a set so who knows)

Let me start by saying that I'm not trying to see anyone get bad action. As it turns out for some reason over the past few weeks I have had three different people ask me to help them find action(ranging from $50 onepocket to $500 sets of 9ball). What makes this kind of odd is that I am known not to gamble much and when I do it is only $10 sets maybe $20.
As far as a description the gentleman he was about 6'3" 250lbsto 275lbs brown or black hair going bald and was driving a newer audi a4.
Again I just want to pair this guy up with the right person. If he is on here and just wants to pm me please do. Or if anyone else wants to pm me go ahead.

I'm in the Manchester CT area. Yeah I'll ask if I talk to him. He gave me his number and asked me to find him some games so I'm going to try and get someone to play him because he has my interest sparked now.

He can't be a real Pool player ...

because 'real' Pool players don't drive that nice
of a car .... lol So that means, he is a working
stiff, probably a professional, that shoots pretty
good, but not road material, OR, he is just a
professional gambler, but not primarily a Pool player.

Quincy is a bit of a drive from Salem, it was Salem if I remember right. It isn't far as the crow flies, but you have to go through Boston or around Boston. Renaissance might be worth the drive though, it depends on how it winds up under the new ownership, Koop may be better able to speak to how it's going now. An easier drive from Salem may be to Country Club in Chelmsford, really good players there too. And there is a place in Peabody whose name I can't remember (but it's next to tha "Golden Banana" a strip club), it has quite a few 3 cushion tables. Then there is Brighton Billiards in Brighton (which is really Boston).
Get in touch when you arrive and bring along a few Dennis Searing cues as introductory gifts. :D

Steer clear of this place. Large sums of money have been known to go missing.

Actually, it is where most of the big action goes and is a nice poolhall.
 
Can you guys give me any info on Maggie's in Norwood. I have to go there Saturday to watch a friend play in a women's event. Any of you guys going to be in the area? How far is Quincy from there?

Mad Maggies is right off Rte1 in Norwood. Maybe about a 20 minute drive from Renaissance in Quincy.
I may actually have the wifes permission to go out Saturday night for a while so I may be down there.

I've played there twice. Not a bad location and facility, but the last time I was there, several years ago, the tables were in pretty poor condition. Somebody I know who plays there regularly said that an effort was being made to fix them up, I don't know how successful they were.
I'd say it is about 20 minutes to Renaisance in Quincy, mostly highway driving. A little tricky to find the place once in Quincy because it's kind of tucked away in the heart of a bldg (an old downtown Sears killed by the suburban malls). We can get you there though.
What is the event? Is it the New England Ladies Tour or something like that? I've a friend who plays in that and maybe I'd drop over, surprise her, and meet you. I work away from home weekdays so I like to hang around home on weekends, you know say "Hi" to the wife and practice, but I do leave it now and again.
If you're looking for action my guess is Renaissance is a better bet than Mad Maggie's. If you're looking for action, I'm a dry well, just ask Dave from Boston. :D
 
Yes it is actually a qualifer for the WPBA. I'll more than likely be there most of the day while she plays. So, DDKoop and Catscradle, if either of you come down look for me. I'll be sitting on the sidelines watching the women play. Look for a Nike baseball hat.
