Thanks everyone I will check it out at some point. I don't know much about Long Island City but if it is across the street I don't see how I can keep myself from not going in. I my also stop in any I pass while wondering around Manhattan. Any events going on this weekend in the city?
Make sure everyone stops and looks at the christmas windows. My buddy that I going to visit for the weekend works for the company that does alot of the windows.
Thanks again
Bora
Masters will be across Queens Blvd. from the hotel you are staying out. Watch out for all the hustlers trying to get you to play with them. I used to live 3 blocks from there, this is where I first started shooting pool.
Spin City will be on 52nd Street and Queens Blvd. The hotel is on 38, 39th?
A good cold crisp walk of 13 blocks straight up Queens Blvd. will do you some good.
If you can find your way to Flushing (last stop on the 7 train) which again is right next to your hotel....you can go to Carom Cafe. Open 24 hours...lot of carom players but also have regular pool tables.
People have already mentioned Amsterdam Billiards...
Then there's Soho Billiards...in...you guess it...Soho, NYC. You can take the F train and get off at umm...I think Boradway Lafayette. You can find some action there.
There's also Corner's. 11th Street and 4th Avenue... Astor Place stop on the 6 train...or 8th Street stop on the N or R train...
I still live in Queens but I go all the way down into the city to play here....
There's like 2 to 3 Slates Billiards in NYC..one of them on 23rd and (6th or Broadway)...this room hosted the tournament that just passed....gosh..it's late can't think of it. But anyway, I wouldn't go there, I don't consider it a pool hall. It's all about loud music, the bar, etc.
Ok, that's got to be plenty for you to check out!!! Have fun...take care...
