Hello all. I am in need of some uv glasses to use with my light. Can you recomend any that you like using. Mine are scratched up badly and need replacing. There is no name on them so I don't know who made them. Any info is appreciated. Chris.

For non-direct light usage U.V. sun glasses will work. I have a welders helmet but seldom, if ever, use it. The way my booth is constructed, very little light can be seen.

www.weldingsupply.com has replacement shields

Item # 11390049

i just got 5 replacement shields for less than my cost of my fist shield and holder. Plus i like the shield it protects your whole face not just your eyes. But you will still need to order the holder for the face shield, but their cheep like $10 or $15.

Hope this helps

Steve. Does the auto dark helmet switch when looking at the reflection of the light off of the cue? Does ir provide uv protection when not in dark mode? I havent ever tried mine for anything other than welding. Chris

See you at SBE

I called american ultraviolet today and spoke with their tech guy. He recomended the darker color uv glasses and also wearing just a clear face shield to block the uv-c rays from the skin. He also recomends gloves and long sleeves. I have worn long sleeves in the past and covered my face as well. Has anyone been sunburned by their light? I am wanting to build an enclosure for my light one of these years. I don't use the uv finish much but might use it more if it were all set up. Chris.

Yeah, I've sunburned my chest where my shirt was open once. My fault as I was standing in a different position than I normally do. No biggie.

Chris, I used it on my hightower lathe, not sure exactly if it was the reflection off the cue or the bright light off the table and lathe. I'll have to give it a shot this weekend and see. I'll let you know.
