Need someone to modify a Predator SPJU

I picked up a used predator off a dude last night and I'd like to have a break tip or a phenolic one piece ferrule/tip combo put on it. I'd also like to have a uniloc joint put in to make it a jump/break. I would also like to repair the cracks in the white butt cap if possible. Maybe even refinish the entire butt. (There are a few nicks and dings) Please reply to hvturner@bellsouth.net
Thanks

You'll have to use a phenalic tip and leave the ferrule the way it is, It's part of the design.

If it were my cue I would consider keeping the Predator shaft for my playing cue( if it fits). I'd see about possibly getting another shaft made to break/jump with. Something with a stiffer taper. I think your results would be better, and you still have the original shaft. Someone on here might have some B grade shafts that are perfectly fine to use but may be a little ugly to the eyes for a discounted price.

As far as the uniloc joint in the butt. I would recommend waiting until you see the results that you get with the phenolic ferrrule. These ferrules make it really easy to jump a ball with the full cue and you might not even need the shorter cue for jumping.

Good Luck.

I have 2 predator shafts that have never been chalked. Plus my 2 other predator shafts that I play with. I'm willing to sacrifice this one. I think maybe Proficient Billiards can handle what I want to do.

Vonn predators are notorious for jumping very poorly or not at all due to there design , you may want to consider having the hollow section filled with a tennon

Here are Proficient Billiards prices. I took the advice of another member and decided against the uniloc for now. I got the refinish, new butt cap, new ferrule and tip. Sent cue off today. Will post a pic when I get it back.

Refinish $75
Uni-loc Joint $75
Tip/Ferrule Combo $40
Butt Cap $45

lmfao why waste all the money on that the predater is ruined now if ya do that lol sell the cue for 200 bucks and go buy a sledge hammer sound like what ya want any way. all so fury j/b cues pretty good and have been rated the fastest break cue can get them for like $140 bucks . I just don't no about all these predator freaks if ya change a ferulle on a predatore that shaft is junk it no long deflects like a predatore so why wast your money on a predatore shaft when ya can bye to break shafts that will hitt better for the price of one predatore..

my sentiments exactly... :D

It's my cue and my money. I'll spend it however the hell I want to spend it. I've had Sledgehammers and Predator BKs and other jump/breaks before and if I wanted another one I would most certainly buy one. I'm very happy with the cue that I have now.

Hey Vonn, I would be curious, how does that thing break? Does it deflect alot? I would be curious about that tip combo on a Predator personally. I was looking at my buddies Sledge II last night and WOW. It has a MUCH smaller tip than my Stinger or my Sledge I. This thing has to be around 12.5mm. My buddy can really spread balls nicely with it. He insisted on buying my Gilbert jump/break from me, and I sold it reluctantly to him, but I know he will keep it and take care of it. I got another cue coming that I am going to use for breaking.

Shorty
