Need to test something - is a 5/16-14 piloted shaft common?

Suppose I wanted to find a light 5/16-14 piloted shaft to test fit onto a Nova cue. Maybe a common production cue or other brand of cue uses them standard, and I could find a friend with one? Anybody aware of what current cues might already have a shaft like this?

I don't want to buy one yet in case I don't like the result. So I'd love to test one out, but don't have the cue knowledge. Any help?

Thanks.

I'm guessing you have a billiard supply place to check out the shaft... production cues I know of: Joss, Adam, and Adam's Balabushka re-issues. Cheers.

I doubt you will find a 'light' shaft from another brand cue, unless it has been modified.

I'd suggest getting a used LD shaft of some kind. I picked up several very lightly used for about $125 ea. that normally sold for about $240 new.

In case I misunderstood, Joss, Shonn, Adam, Balabushka, most Helmstetter, Some Nick Vatners, some Malis have that thread.

Good Luck.

I think J&J is 5/16 x 18 not 14. At least I had one that was & now have an older jump break cue that is.

If they are the 14s, I'd like to know.

Can someone verify that J&J has the 14s?

Well yes J&J also has 5/16-14. They also have uni-loc, and 3/8-10 too.
