Neil Fiejen and parallel cueing..

I"ve read an article saying that might be bgest to have eye parallel to cue..

IF you watch Neil Fiejen shoot does he not do just that.
He puts the cue along side his face..

I shoot like Neil Fiejen.. I shoot with chin below cue and cue touching side of face .. and think its prob best way..

Niels has very good reason to do this, he is almost blind in 1 eye.
All the other pro's do not shoot this way. If you are almost blind in 1 eye (I certainly hope you are not)
Niels' technique will work good for you, if you have good vision in 2 eyes then it will most likely not work.

How do you know Neil is blind in one eye?

I have 20/20 vision had laser eye surgery and just think its prob most accurate way by getting low as possible.

Maybe neil does that to free his arm and also maybe parallel cueing is why?

Even ronnie sullivan gets chin one inche below cue and he touches cue against side of face ive seen? am i right?

Not only is it parallel, it is in line with that eye.:)

I usually shoot with the cue directly under my left eye as well. I've found that depending on the length of my bridge, I have to change my eye position to see the shot line properly. For shots where I need a shorter bridge than usual, I line up with the cue just slightly to the left of center, whereas I would normally have my cue further out to the left.
I don't know if anyone else does that, but it's what works for me.

Funny this thread came up, because I tested out something similar today.

I'm right handed/left eye dominant. Never paid much attention to putting my left eye over the cue, and I shoot okay.

Today I turned my head a little more to the left to get my cue directly under my left eye. I shot really well. I'll have to record myself though because I honestly felt like my shooting arm was crooked.

Interesting.
I would have thought that if your eye/s were vision centered over the center of the cue...there would not be a need to compensate for bridge distances.

What were you aiming at?

Yeah, I'm not really sure why I have to do that. I used to have lots of trouble playing rail shots and shots where I had little room to bridge until I figured that out. Maybe just a personal quirk I guess.

He is not blind, but almost blind, I think it was 15% vision or something similar.
This is pretty common knowledge about Niels.

If you feel this technique works well for you, go ahead and use it, but do not do it because
you saw Niels do it. Niels does it for a very specific reason that applies only to him.

Efren doesn't do it, Shane doesn't do it, Ralf doesn't do it, Mika doesn't do it, Dennis doesn't do it, pretty much every top pro does not do it.
Ronnie does not do it, he does have his cue off center of his chin, but his chin is above the cue.

Exactly!
100 % correct on all examples!

In your avatar, it look slike your left eye is above your cue.

Correct my friend :)

I m the opposite from Niels. I m just able to see with my left eye- my right eye about 20 %.

best wishes bud,
