New 8 ball game.. not sure..

Has anyone ever played 8ball but with 9 ball rules?...maybe 8 ball advanced...ex. after break if you make a ball choose either the high or low set and go in order. Obviously if choosing the high balls start with the 9 and after the 15.. then you pocket the 8... ever hear of this game?? Just a thought..

Like Saratoga, but in Saratoga you remove the 7 and 15 ball. Brian.

Yep. Rotation 8-ball. Sometimes as a spot. Saratoga is a short rack version.

I play 8 ball like 9 ball but in pairs. start with 1 or 9. If you pot 1 you need to pot 9 before going to next pair which is 2 and 10. You are free to choose the ball, but need to pot the pair before going to the next pair, which is 3 and 11. Finally theres only 8 ball left.
It gives you some freedom to improvise, going arround the table.

Double or Twin Rotation 8 Ball can be fun. Nobody is assigned a suit but the incoming player can run out by playing either solids or stripes in numerical order.

It can be very strategic because if you can't get out you are leaving two options for your opponent but also lots of traffic. I've only ever played it for fun to break up a long session

Going high or low (the only balls in play being the highest or lowest) can be applied to the common shooting games - even one pocket - while still maintaining a strategic order.
