Might be a difference between APA and BCA. Since the BCA basically wrote the book on 8ball rules, when they make a change, it is usually to enhance the game of billiards, not take away from it...... just a thought
That would be a fine thought, excepting the fact that we're talking about a rule change made by the BCAPL for their league play, not by the Billiard Congress of America, the folks that wrote that book you speak of.
Oh, those pesky details.
And again, I don't give a hoot about the rule change itself, just a commentary about who can change rules and not be castigated, versus those who change some rules and as a result are viewed poorly. It is an amusing contradiction.
