I bought this cue from Tad when he was still making cues in the back of a pool room on Washington Boulevard just West of Western Avenue in Los Angeles.

It was the most expensive cue Tad made at the time and I never used used the cue.

The cue has been sold, I will delete this post when we complete the transaction.

If made back then, can you explain the TAD logo? He wasn’t putting them on back then. I bet it has a serial number under the bumper.

That is correct Tad did not engrave his logo on his cues when he was on Washington Boulevard but I took the cue to him when he was in Stanton and he added his logo for me. I think I explained the logo somewhere on the internet.

When I bought this cue I do not remember anyone using a logo but I do remember Ernie engraving "GINACUE" on some of his cues and I seem to remember Danny James and Bill Stroud might have been the first to use logos. I welcome corrections.

I will be listing one of Ernie's early engraved cues next.

Somewhen on AZB I posted a story about Tad coming out of his workshop in the back of Stan's pool room with an unfinished cue, a cue ball and an object ball to test his latest work. Stan, who bought the pool room from Tad said, Tad played straight pool. He told me Tad's high run but because I do not want to be inaccurate I do not want to quote a number but I remember it was an impressive number.

I want to check the serial number on my Tad. There is a very small opening under the bumper, I do not want to do it wrong, please tell me if a screw driver is the correct tool to remove the bumper.

It will likely either be a phillips head or an allen head bolt holding the bumper to the weight bolt. Remove the little bolt and the bumper should come right off.

I have not removed the bumper because the hole on the bottom is so small I can't see if it is a Phillips or Allen head screw. I do not what to make a mistake and ruin whatever is holding the bumper in place.
