Chris, thanks for the stich ring section. Can you tell us what is going to be different with your inlay section that was not included on your last video? By the way I wouldn't mind pre ordering the dvd from you. I am not sure that 50 will go that far. Please let us know if you decide to do so. I would be happy to send money early.

thanks, Jimbo.
Actually the inlay section is probably less time spent showing how it is done, but showing how to do it right real fast. I cut a pocket and a few inlays and show cutting a inlay inside of an inlay. Just enought to show how it is done. I will also show how to put the three piece butt together. I have already filmed the inlays, veneers, recut points, butterlies, full splice jig, stitch rings and more. The full splice jig is more expensive if you do not have one of my lathes than the other one, but much cheaper if you have a Deluxe as you just borrow the headstock for a few minutes to use it to cut the handle splice. I will be selling the veneer mitre fixture for $75 also.

Dear Chris.

As a "new comer" I really enjoyed both of you?re DVDs and book. As mentioned, Full splice is something I would like
to see done, even if the book explains it. Also, it would be interesting to see how you?re tapper - shaft machine
is working and how it could be used/built (I guess this is not something you plan to make and sell).
It would also be nice to see a wood to wood (wood threaded) handle joint in stead of the steel one
you used. In case you buy them stock, forget this, but how to make wooden threads on a
wood handle would be nice to see. I have also seen you posting earlier on CNC setups.
If this is something you use, it would be nice to have a glance on this as well.

In respect of the production, I found both of you?re DVDs OK, but one thing you could do is to short down
on the "Intro text" and "chapter texts". I ended up FFW over these.

I have been doing video editing for years on a pro Mac setup and I?m happy to edit the whole
thing for you for a free DVD. Computer made DVD menus, chapter "texts" and sound editing is something
I?m used to. If you are interested, PM me and I can make a raw re-make of one of you?re DVDs I already
bought and ship to you. You could then have a look and see how this could look like.

Just if you would like to add some extra "touch" on the finished product. I can also compress the video more than you?r desktop DVD recorder where you can spend more time explaining and working, if this is of interest. It?s then just to send the DVD for replication.

Have some one as a camera man so you do not have to play games messing with the camera, that way you can keep a clear mind and concentrate on what you are doing and teaching.

Thanks for all the suggestions. As you might have expected once I decided to show just about everything that was asked for it turned into about 7 or 8 hours of video. So there will be three volumes. Volume one is complete and is being sent to the motion picture lab next week for editing and copying. Volume two is almost done and Volume three will be done in a month or two.

ADVANCED CUE BUILDING Volume One (2.5 Hours) $50
Points and Inlays
Includes Inlaying, Pattern Making, Stitch Rings. Points: Veneers, Re-Cut, Full Splice and Butterflies.

ADVANCED CUE BUILDING Volume Two (2.5 Hours) $50
Cue Assembly, Coring, Boring, Tenons and more.
Includes Assembly, Boring, Coring, Indicator Readouts, Ring Work, Tenons, and Stabilizing.

I show in detail how to use dial indicators as a readout ior repeat exact tenons and bores.

List

Sir,
I would like to get on the list also for both volumes. Is the Miter setup the one you show in your book? If not, how is it different?

Sign me up also Chris. I am still learning on your Deluxe lathe. I am getting orders for cues though. Everything, including the jeep did well coming from Georgia.

How about another DVD just on finishes and pre-finish preparation?
A good finish is just as important as the building of a cue and instruction about the various cue finish methods and the equipment needed is in short supply.
I would think the subject would be to big to include on the DVD you are shooting now but if you can include it ... great.

Good luck and I want one!
I am thinking that 50 will go very fast.
Hope you sell a million of them.

I plan to show the Cue Cote and cyno, but not auto. I am not going to encourage killing yourself to build cues.

It is hard to explain without a picture, but instead of splitting the veneer down the middle it just cleans one edge up to the 45 degree at a time. It also allows for some tweaking of the angle where as the book jig leaves you the angle of the bit, right or not.
