For anyone in the NY/NJ/PA/DE area, there is a new 9 ball tour for A, B,C,D players only. No Open or Pro players.
This tour is geared towards the mid to high level amateur and is similar to the old Blaze tour (now the Mezz Cue tour), without the top 5-8 players that always win. It's a great format, the competition is strong and it fills the gap for those that don't play top player speed (i.e. Mika, Joey Testa, Eddie Abraham, et al) but want a high level tourney to play in.
The Blaze tour is run by Jose Burgos, who also runs the new Mezz Cue tour. The Blaze stops are currently scheduled for every other Saturday at One Shot Billiards, in Somerset, NJ. Race to 7, double elimination and game spot based on rating. Entry fees are also pro rated. Nice one day event and the payouts were decent too. Call One Shot for details or come out and play.
