New cue ball thoughts

All the top cue balls are going for $50 - the Arcos 2, the black measle and the red measle Aramith. Not sure why anyone would bat an eye anymore at a $50 cue ball when they think nothing of paying $1K or more for their cue, not to mention their break cue and their jump cue. Heck, premium chalk these days goes for $20 a cube and a good magnetic chalk holder for $50!
$1000 for a cue? Or the sales tax on a cue?🤣😂

I'd spend $50 on the Predator/Aramith cue ball all day. Plays great, stays clean and looks good.

If that wasn't an option, Aramith Measles ball a very close 2nd.
The predator Arcos cue ball rolls truer than any cue ball on the market !,, Not up for discussion.... Nuff Said

I'd ask you to prove that statement, but you cant. It's all in your head. Saying that is justifying that there are no other cue balls made with proper balance. Just not true.

And everything posted here is up for discussion.

By now, everyone knows the Predator balls are made by Aramith. Question is, are they the same phenolic resin formula as the top-of-the-line Aramith Tournament balls? I could be wrong, and there is probably no way in hell to find out for sure, but I'll bet $2 to a dog turd that they're the same. Just different designing.

Now, if I had to make a choice between the Aramith Tournament set, and the new Predator set, being they are of equal price, I would consider buying the Predators. After all, Predator is one of the very few companies actually putting money back into our sport.

Just curious what other cue balls you compared it to in making this statement, and exactly how did you go about testing all these cue balls?

At 40 years of playing the game and owning half a dozen ball sets along with various cue balls I can tell you with out a doubt that it’s the best set of pool balls I have ever played. I tried the Arcos cue ball first and was very impressed. Then purchased the set (actually a birthday gift). They play outstanding. If I have a complaint it would be that the numbers on the balls are not on both sides. One side has the numbers and the other side is the Predator logo. However if you have been playing long enough you know what colors are what numbers and in most games it won’t matter since 8 ball is stripes and solids and rotation games usually only go to 10.

Other than that they are outstanding. The only ball I have ran across that plays as well or nearly as well is the Aramith red circle. Which I also like. The red circle measel ball is by far the worst playing ball of them all. Never understand why people prefer that ball. I guess just to watch the spin which means absolutely nothing to the player after the cue has been hit. It’s just eye candy at that point. TV relevance only. It plays terrible. Gets incredibly dirty and does that fast.

Give the Arcos a try. You won’t regret it. The black triangles are way less distracting and still allow you to see the awesome spin you are putting on the ball. Lol

Believe me I was skeptical also. That’s why I only bought the cue ball first.

I also own…..

Centennial blue circle
Aramith red circle
Aramith pro cup measle
Acros II

I know this post is a few years ago, but have you compared the Acros II cue ball to the new Tournament Aramith black swirl logo? I did not like the Tournament Aramith black swirl logo, especially on slower tables, as it seemed to take more effort to get the consistent hit I am used to with the Aramith red circle and Aramith super pro (red Aramith swirl logo). Others have also reported this "extra effort" with the Tournament Aramith black swirl logo cue ball and ball sets.

Looking for a new cue ball....one for practice and play - want multi red dot ball. Trying to decide between the Diamond Television cue ball and the Aramith super pro cup [measals] ball. Currently have the pro and like it, but it just isn't white, and gets more yellow everyday!!! Its about 11 years old and its just yellow. Anyone have experience with the Diamond one? TIA
I own & use daily the Diamond tv blue measle .
It plays the way youd expect it to for a $50 cue ball. Perfect weight , easy to maneuver around the table.
Above all its durable as hell, Ive catapulted it off the table more than a few times during attempts at power breaks.
My tables in a unfinished basement, concrete floors all around , & surprisingly the diamond tv cue ball doesnt have a mark/chip on it.

Aramith black measle & arcos 2 are equally as good . You cant go wrong with any of the 3, which is why I own them all.
It comes down to color/design preference.

You should try a set of dynaspheres. Look at the variation sheet of pool balls that's pinned by rexus.
