New cue case in development (poll)

I have just spent 3k on tooling for production of a very high end carbon fiber cue case.

I now have shipping, mold making materials, pumps, carbon, etc....aerospace composite materials.

Next week, I will be designing the molds to make these cases.

These are hard carbon shell style cases, with my custom shape, along the lines of a centinnial, but many features never seen before on a case.

Simple question.....

2x5 or 3x6 for the first case style?

More details about the final design and features coming soon.

You forgot to add the poll.

Keep it simple and go with a 2x4 or 2x5. I rarely see a 3x6 case and even then, it's not full.

I'd vote 2x4...or in this case, 2x5. The 2x5 makes me wonder, will these be using some derivation of the JB Ultra-Pad interior?

id say 3x6 if the cost difference isnt great
just to have the option to carry more toys....:D

jmho

I would have to say 2x4 also, I think that is the most common "player's" style. Along with maybe a pouch or two large enough for a jump handle.

My favorite designs are the 2x4 cases with large pouch and small pouch up top for practical purposes, although if I had my total favorite design and did not care if I could carry tip tools, towel, whatever, I'd pick a clean GTF/Whitten case.

I'd do a survey of the major online billiard supply sellers to find out what the most popular sizes are. They seem to be well-run businesses that can tell you right off the top of their head. Of course, you can ignore the biggest seller since it's probably a 1x1 or 1x2 made for beginners who aren't going to spring for a carbon fiber case. But let them tell you whether it's 2x4, 2x5, 3x5 or 3x6.

Big pockets are a selling feature for me.

a good 2x4 can actually accommodate 3 cues (play, break & jump) if the shaft holes are a bit larger & the jump butt is small.

Good Luck in your endeavor.

When you say "High end" how do you define that? Do you mean a very good quality case for a good price, or a high end expensive case with a limited market? What is the price range you are shooting for?

I like 3x6 with 2x4 being the minimum.
It would be nice if there where 2 small pouches for jump cue. (Some people have 3 piece Jump cues.)

10 a month 799.00 unless you want leather wrapped then its plus plus depending on the leather worker doing the work.

First case will be a 2x5
The interior is unique and of my design
The materials are in route from Germany and the UK..
Nothing about this case will be cheap

After the molds are done, next week, I will make number one, and send it to a couple people for review.

Next design will be a 4 x 8
Then a dealer case

Be back around after i have number one hatched!

Till then

Must be some really pretty, highly functional cases at 800. That market is one of more art than function for most.

Agree 100%, once people see this design, there will be zero doubt why it cost 800.

My goal is to have the case complete, ready to use at one pound! Also will say, my test of the case will be to load it with cues and throw it off a 30 foot cliff into a quarery, without damage to anything inside!! That will be the final test, I will record that!😃

cool idea...

What happened to the group buy? most people put money into an effort after the proto type has been built. that is how kick starter works.

I would love to be one of the first in a group purchase but need to see more progression of this project.

Rooting for another great design in the billiards community. I'm excited to see this succeed.

I have more details to share.

The molds and materials are around a week from delivery. I have enough material to make 10 cases. I will spend a few days dialing in my infusion processes, then get to work on the first 10. I'm going to offer these 10 cases (once ready to ship) at 599 each. All my cases will have serial number's. The first ten will be proto1 proto2 etc. As in prototype.
5 cases will be raw carbon, with a nice clear coat, 5 will be wrapped in black alcantara! All cases will have end caps made from the most tricked out carbon weave you have ever seen!
I will also add, my cases will be made from very expensive materials. No cheap carbon, no 3d carbon wraps, or plastic anyplace! The only core material will be in the end caps of the case, nomex honeycomb..... The leather wrapped cases ( ones I do) will be alcantara! If you don't know what that is, go look at a Ferrari option list, for upgraded interior trim! And I left out the most cool details about this new design, for launch day!

Future options for my cases will include different leather wrap options, pick your leather worker! Also, I will offer custom orders the choice of 1000s of carbon fiber styles. I will also offer case shells made from different materials, carbon\kevlar, s glass fiberglass, etc.etc.

My cases will also be made to custom lenghts if needed.

I will be making these cases full time, I will be looking for a couple distributors soon, one or two in the US and a few overseas. I will also have the next 10 ready for delivery to valley forge in April!

I will offer my carbon cases to leather workers that would like a shell to wrap and tool.

Thanks all

Mods, please have someone pm me about setting up a new account for my case company, with sales rights and ad's on your site. Im not expecting to sell these here without donating to the cause in ad money and upgraded user accounts. Thanks
