I was thinking about buying a new cue. I shoot with a Predator. I was thinking about buying a Mezz or an OB. What is your opinion?

I have owned a Predator and a Mezz. I think the OB line is made by Joss (or it was at some point at least). I would say out of those 3 the Mezz brand is the highest quality. It is really close though. The money you spend on a Mezz will be a lot more than how much you would pay for a Joss and the Joss plays just about the same. I don't have a problem with how the Predator plays but the price of them are crazy. The lowest priced Predator is $381 on pooldawg.
Since you are considering one of these 3 cues I assume you have a pretty good budget. Why not see what kind of custom cue you can get for the same price. Currently I am shooting with a Jack Madden and it has the best hit IMO and you can probably find one for around the same price as a production cue.

I want to stay with low deflection. Is the Mezz LD? And what model number shaft?

OB cue hands down. I have played with all of them and now play with the OB with a Pro shaft. The shaft has a taper that feels like your playing with a thicker shaft until you get very close to the tip but has extremely low deflection and a very firm hit. They are also made in Texas, and their customer service is second to none. If you want a great playing cue, great customer service, and made in the USA go with OB. If you want to pay more for a cue that I dont think plays as well go with Mezz. If you want a China made cue go with Predator.
