Here we go folks. Here is the list of people going into the "Hall" this year.

In no particular order;

Bob Campbell
John Fernandez
Nicole( Mancini) Albergaria
Paul Drexler
Dave Fernandez
Marty Herman
Rick Marcos
Beau McGarrett
Laddie & Richie Mills
Charlie & Rick Mattarazzo
Bob Madenjian
Tiffany Nelson
Candi Rego
Bob Busa
Bob Pagliarulo
Kerry Herbert (Need help to contact)
Roland Miller
Mike Webb
Ron Meriweather
Steve Booth

This is as large a group as we would like to undertake in one installation. We're sorry we can't accommodate any more at this time. I do have a large waiting list and in the future these people will be under consideration.

Here is the list of future inductees:

Al Baron
Bruce Barthelette
Bob Dargis
Donnie Edwards
Harry Garfinkle
Eddie Gregory
Dungaree Joe
Eddie Kelly
Joe Kiley
Mark Kulungian
Red Ledger
Roland Maynard
Nadine Mazzola
Johnny Mills
Eddie O'Connell
Mark Ransem
Jimmy Relihan
Rich Ross
Mazin Shooni

So far this has been a huge undertaking and I appreciate all that stepped up and made suggestions. In the future I will need more than suggestions. I will need information on how to contact the person you're suggesting we induct or if they have passed away a way to contact their family members. I will also need the real names of these people, not the names they were known by in the pool community.

The induction ceremony is looking like it will happen in September, right now. Hope to see a large turn-out. This will take place in the second sight of the Hall. The new Snooker's in Providence, RI. Right off exit twenty- three on Rt. 95. Not sure of the address. Will post it when I'm sure of it.
That's it for now. Sorry if your favorite didn't make it this time.

Please keep all comments positive.

Are all of these people going into the hall of fame? Are there so many because you are just starting it or are there others already in? Seems like a lot at once. What the heck are the qualifications to get in? Are these all pool related or all sports?

We already have a large group of inductees. This is just people we are adding to the list. I put this project down for a few years and we are making up for lost time.
The qualifications vary. Some of these people are cue makers. Some are father & sons, a generation thing. Some have contributed a great part of their life to the promotion and betterment of the game. The rest are great players, with proven records.

Thanks for asking.

The list of people, already in the hall, is in my post, New England Hall of Fame.

Bob Busa?

He's not the guy I beat playing 1pocket last week, is it?!

Lou Figueroa

Yes it is Lou. Maybe you should move up to these parts. We could easily find a place, in the hall, for a player of your caliber. Thanks for stopping by World Class. Hope your visit was enjoyable.

Tom, you are soooooooooooooooo diplomatic, you leave me speechless :-)

Lou Figueroa
a first!

Sorry about the spelling error. We'll get them all right on the plaque at Snooker's. Keep me on my toes. I appreciate the help.

Lou, I'm trying to make this hall thing work and sell books. I have to be diplomatic, except when I lock you up playing a safety. That's when things change.

Thank you.

I appreciate the time and effort you spent getting this done, thanks. This kind of activity can contribute to the level of interest in billiards in New England and is important. Our region need more new upcoming players like Mike Deshaine to represent our region around the country and the world for that matter.
Keep it going.

Snookers? Is this the same organization that I think used to be centered out of Accu Billiards in New Bedford?

We've decided to go with another site in New England, besides the one in New Bedford. This will give the members of the hall even more exposure. Snooker's in Providence, is in a great location, right off Rt. 95. Steve and Regina invited us into the new room and we accepted the invitation.

New Bedford is in the process of making changes in the structure of the hall in thier place and we are waiting to hear from them as to when they might want to do anything in the future.

We are hoping to be ready by September with the newest inductions. Thanks for asking.

Accu Billiards could use some restructuring. Fortunately they've maintained the interior and the equipment, but the outside has really deteriorated.
Too bad they don't get back on the Joss Tour, it is a great venue for watching matches.
Good luck with your move to Snookers.

Tom nice effort & work you are doing for the New England area. Best of luck to you in the future with all of your endeavors. You are a class act... this region is lucky to have you.

The ceremony will be inside and I'm hoping for a packed house. It's a great list of player's and cue makers. We are also puting in people that did a lot to promote the game, in New England.

Hope to see a great turn-out. Details to follow.

Excellent work Tom. Thank for compiling an outstanding list of inductees. I do know most of them and everyone on the list are well deserving.

On a side note, Ron "Tallman" Meriweather has been an inspiration to all of us in Fall River/Bristol, RI area. He spends countless hours teaching us young pups how to play this game we all enjoy. Also, his stories of being on the road are priceless. But lately, he has had some medical issues & undergoing lots of treatments, including chemotherapy for cancer. I do wish him well & speedy recovery.

I also remember Beau McGarrett very fondly. I was a young man living in Springfield, MA area back in the early 80's. He was a very kind gentleman and a finer pool player. I remember running around Springfield, Amherst & Enfield, CT area on saturday & sundays looking for action with him. He would almost always get into an action giving up the world. Against tough odds, he didn't always win but he always gave all he had. And in doing so, he always behaved in a gentlemanly manner. May he rest in peace!

Steve K. in Fall River

I ust to watch Rick Marcos shoot before what a monster the last time i saw him in the New bedford area was when he was playing Dickie K in some one pocket years ago. RockemSockem, are you from the area ?? im asking since you metioned Fall River.

I always enjoyed talking to Ricky. He was one who always took out time to say hello whenever you crossed his path. Tom, tell me. One name that I noted absent was Nick the Indian. Any reason ? Despite his love of vodka and clean teeth, he was as feared as any player back in the day. Also, Mike Zuglan and/or Joe Tucker, neither who needs no more said about them.

tim

Nick and Mike are already members. Joe's a little to young right now. I took several years off doing this and I'm putting the older guys in first, they have waited long enough.
