Well here we go again. We're ready to start gathering information on the new class of inductees. We know some of you out there may feel slighted that you haven't been inducted yet but we're trying to do the inductions the best way we see fit and if we induct people that we feel are still very productive players and not at the end of their careers we may have to change their resumes every year and we can't justify it.

Professional athletes have to wait five years after they retire to be considered for their respected Halls Of Fame. Unfortunately pool players don't run out of gas in there late thirties and early forties. We're sticking to our plan of inducting people on the down side of their career as opposed to people that have a lot of game left and more possible achievements in their careers.

Here's the list of possible inductees:

Dave Fernandez
Bob Dennis
Bruce Barthelette
Rich Ross
Al Baron
Eddie Tennaro
Fred Rita
Mark Kulungian
Mike Mason
Kevin Kefalas
Manny Hamel
Orie Rufo
Howie Meltz
Mazin Shooni
Jimmy Reid
Jim Relihan
Gary Lucchesi
Ray Gilbeau
Joe Kiley
Lenny Rummerfield
Steve Booth
Eddie Gregory
Tiffany Nelson
Allison Mosimann
Bob Grudinski
Phil Stevens
Randy LaBonte
Terry Kearns
Jay Speilburg
Lee French
Skippy Deprisco
Lenny Loder(Jingles)
Bernie Muck
As you can see the list is long and many of the people on the list are deceased. We're going to need help locating people and family members of the people that are deceased. Please help us in the effort. Use a post here or send me a private message.

Any suggestions are welcome. We obviously need more women.

I hope this year goes as well as last year. Please help!

how will you decide who enters the HOF? usually its sports writers that vote players in. is there commitee set up? are you soliciting votes from new englanders?

We will base our decisions on how much iinformation we can aquire on each canidate and how soon we receive the information. All of these people, are people we have heard of and know they deserve to be recognized. Not all of them are players. No voting is necessary. Information for other canidates is welcomed.

This may be a bit of a stretch, but I believe Julie Kelly and Karen Corr lived and played out of Somerville upon first moving stateside.

Karen and Julie did live in Somerville for a brief period of time but I don't think we could justify putting them into The New England Pool and Billiard Hall of Fame.

Hi Tom,

It would probably help if you could provide the current members that are already in the HOF.

Thanks,
Koop

Similiar to what 'pocketspeed' asked, what criteria is used for electing people into the hall of fame? I am guessing skill in billiards is only part of the equation. The degree to which they promote the game is probably important. Teaching and sharing their knowledge of the game may be important too. Is there a web page for the New England Pool and Billiard Hall of Fame?

Paul Revere, Ted Kennedy and Stephen King were big players in their day.

Sorry could't resist :)

To Answer the most asked question.

The Committee consists of three people.

Tom McGonagle
Steve Goulding
Regina Goulding

We welcome anyone's opinions and suggestions as to who gets inducted into the hall as long as they meet the criteria. As mentioned in Rjohnson_8ball's post. We take many things into consideration. Right now we are playing catch-up and trying to induct an older crowd before we tackle the next generation of great players.

I'll have the list of every person already inducted as soon as possible.

Thank all of you who have tried to help and made suggestions. I believe Dawn is already a member but I'll double check.

I loike the idea of this if u need any help tom with pictures and info ask me i'll find out some stuff!!

All New England HOF inductees

Tom M, have you gotten around to list past New England HOF inductees.
It's been a couple years since you said you would try to get list.

Jimmy Reid for sure.

I would say Dave Fernandez but isn't he still playing, as you mentioned?
