I never meant to start a flame here. I just intended to question whether it was fair to claim that the ringwork was purely Eric Crisp's given its simplicity and the fact that it has been done before by other cuemakers (at least in some variation). I didn't agree with people accusing Bryan of stealing a design for the sole purpose of capitalizing on the success of another. Especially when the design in question was a pretty simple one that had little to no proprietary features. (That was why I posted pics of similar rings from cuemakers that have been around longer than Eric.) And that is not to knock Eric either. I love the way his cues play.
I applaud Bryan for making an awesome looking cue.
Bryan, my apologies for creating trouble in your thread. I was actually trying to help. I didn't mean to 'hijack' the thread.
The cue is SWEET! And I'm sure Blowfish is/will be very happy to have it!
You did a great job. That cue, and many of the others you have posted in the past few weeks are beautiful. Hats off to you.
Thank you for your kind words and Support. No apology needed.
We love to build cue's and We love the game of pool. My brother and I have dedicated ourselves to build pool cues and improve our craft. We've been building cues for 8 years & If you look at the cue's we made 3 years ago, 2 year ago, 1 year ago, Today you will see a commitment tword quality and improved building. And for those who think we are souly doing this for the money you are largely mistaken. Our love for pool, cues, and our fellow players runs deaper than $$$$.
Yes, we must make a profit to continue doing what we love, some of our cue's cost more than others. You can buy cues that are cheaper and look like your getting more for your money. But I believe we are making cue's that reflect our dedication to continued improvement and to the overall craft of cuemaking. We are still improving, we don't build the "perfect cue" we still have bugs to work out, I'm not one of the cuemakers who act/talk like every cue I build is perfect.
Most of our cues are not sold or played with in this country, I appreciate our foreign buisness and will continue to build and enjoy speaking with people from around the world and seeing what thay like in a cue. I also would like to have more domestic sales. But I'm not going to cheapen myself or cut corners, or do some of the underhanded/under the table deals some cuemakers have done to get the word out about our cues (that last comment does not apply to Eric at all, I love his cue's). I want real feed back from real players, yeah if I give a guy a cue for nothing he's going to say good things about us and our cue's. Not the way I do buisness and no way to grow as a cuemaker.
Also if you go to the Machinary section and search for our shop pics, I think you can see we aren't fly by night, do it as cheap as you can, or hobbiest. We are in this for the long haul, and the future will be our judge and jury.
Lifes too short people, It won't hold you when your sad, or pick you up when your feeling down It's a pool cue.
