New to this forum, lookin for some insight.

Getting a table from my mother in law, 8' AMF playmaster, after the passing of my father in law.

I'm in central NJ, and looking around for installers, so far the best price i've gotten is 450$ for an ~20 miles from house to house.

also looking to get new cloth put on (Simonis 860), which i can get for ~255 myself and have the same installer put on for an additional 50$.

seems a little high to me? i've called a few other places, most are around the same ball park. one guy quoted me 550-600 (without cloth)

just wondering if anyone else near the NJ area knows of a good reputable place that can help me out here, and/or if those above quotes are out of this world or about on par...

Break down a table, load it, drive to another location, assemble and recloth bed and rails? Make sure that he is insured for any damage he causes during the move, and our good....I'm a table mechanic and I wouldn't do it for $500.... sounds reasonable to me

that 500$ doesnt include the cost of the cloth, i have to provide the cloth, for a total of 750$ after all is said and done, not including the 7% NJ sales tax..

first he told me 450$ for breakdown/move/setup, and 175$ for recovery including the cloth, but that wasnt simonis 860, I think it might have been imperial or another more budget friendly cloth.

the only thing that kinda throws me off about this place though, is their RC parts are about 200% marked up too, so i just wanted to get a cross reference and maybe another place just to see who else is out there.

and the price isn't really an issue, its just that i want to know what the norm is, since my mother-in-law will pay for the move/install, and i'll be paying for the cloth.

thanks

In NJ

I'm in NJ also. I used A Team pool tables to install new cloth and level. Reasonable prices and they did a good job. 201-462-9611 if your interested. I'm not related nor do I have any interest in the company.

Good luck.

Ditto. I would use Pat on his reputation. He'll do the job right. It'll serve you well for years. Do it right the first time.
