Hi! New here ... and going to be transparent ... I joined looking for some history on my late father's vintage V. Loria & Sons 9-ft table and possibly selling it. In Denver, Colorado (originally from NY) -- not sure how this site works though ... how do I send direct messages to people in my area who may be able to help? Or should I just post pics and see who responds? I want to be respectful but also can't find a "users guide" anywhere - thanks in advance for any advice! ~Jill

Hey, everyone, I'm Bill, and I grew up playing pool in Memphis, Tenn. I'm 70 right now, but soon I'll hit 71.
I have met all kinds of players; many were strong, and I wasn't one of them.
I joined the Marines in 72 and stayed in till 1981. I work at a pool hall in Memphis, and I'm just a little better.

Hello everyone.

A couple months ago my buddy inherited a C.L. Bailey table and invited me over to play. It was a lot of fun to play on something other than a Valley! I had played four days a week in high school when our town still had a decent little hall and eventually was good enough to run about every third or fourth rack playing nine-ball, then played off and on in college at a really great hall. I'm definitely NOT that good anymore, lol. About that time I started playing in a band and my free time for anything else was pretty much over, once I was married and had to give up on playing music regularly.

Since playing on my friends home table I've been looking for what's out there on what places are still open and where I can play and have been going to check them out. The landscape has changed a bunch in the last twenty years! It's been fun though and I wanted to sign up here to read and occasionally ask some opinions from guys that know what they're talking about.

Anyway, I look forward to visiting with everyone!

Hi all.

Found about the website via the Billiards subreddit, and thought I’d come check it out. I’ve been around the game of billiards a good chunk of my life, and I am just getting back into it after roughly 12-13 years. Just bought my first cue granted it’s a knockoff of a knockoff from Temu.

I’ve lived in the St. Louis area all by life, and am currently due south of it.

Hi, I’m new here. Just getting back into pool after 7/8 years off. I already found and bought a cue from a terrific seller. For some reason his feedback he left me is not showing up.

Not new, but it has been a hot minute.

Moved from Mid Mich to Mich Thumb recently. Retired. Ready to chase that White Ball once again.

Hello 👋 newbie here from Florida. Played a lot in my teens early 20’s but then you know, life happens. Now in my 50’s I’m at the point where I can do what I want finally 😂

So far I’ve picked up a couple of SW cues (I’m a buyer for those looking to sell) and here’s the table setup in the gameroom. (Disclaimer cheap cues on the table).

Greetings, everyone, from San Antonio, Texas. I'm 51, been playing pool since I was 15. A high school friend had a pool table in his house and we took extra long breaks while we were supposed to be rehearsing for our brass quartet. Was a regular at Rocky J's back in the 90s, even worked there during the summer of 1992. Anyone from San Antonio remember The Rock? Sadly closed a few years ago. I own a few cues, three McDermotts, including an old D-20, a Viking, a Pechauer and a Joss, my main player for the past 20+ years. Haven't been able to play as much the past year or so, but I'm looking to change that. I went to a Fast Eddie's not far from my place yesterday and hit some. Boy it felt good, but man am I rusty. I also didn't wear glasses when I was younger and first learned the game, so that's gonna take some getting used to. Anyway, looking forward to this experience.
Thanks,
mdc

Hello everyone, I learned to play pool when I was around 10; maybe younger. My dad scored this old Brunswick table, out of a bar that closed, and put it in our basement. I lived on that thing. I can't remember the model, it was pretty basic, he figured it was from the 40's. Played all the time until my late 20's, wherever I could, college, after work at bars etc. Haven't really played that much the last couple decades, due to typical life stuff, plus my homes couldn't accommodate a pool table. That changed recently, as I purchased a used AMF table, and my family and I are having lots of fun. Listening to vinyl and playing pool has been great.
