I'm not really new here as I joined up back in February when I was trying to value and sell a Ginacue I purchased back in the 70's. I didn't ever introduce myself here, so I thought I would. I live in Metairie, LA, a suburb of New Orleans and have been here all my life other than a bit of travelling for work. I started playing pool in grammar school back in the 60's, I had a good friend living around the corner had an 8' Brunswick table. I got addicted to the game quickly. We played several different pool games, but primarily straight pool. I had a high run of 21 in 7th grade but that was on that 8' Brunswick with large pockets. I played a lot in the 70's in college and represented Tulane in the intercollegiate regionals in 69 thru 71 when they played 14:1 in the intercollegiate tournaments. I pretty much quit playing in the mid 90's and started again when I retired in 2015. When I say played again, I mean regularly but not often. I play once a week a few games of 8 ball and a couple of games of 14:1 to 100. I had a high run in the late 80's of 62, but since starting back up my best has been in the low 30's, and I've only done that twice. I'm 73 and my game has some serious flaws at this point that I probably won't conquer playing once a week for a few hours. I've recently started trying to work on my focus and basics and it seem to be helping. Would love to find someone else in this area who might be interested in playing on occasion but most of the folks I used to play with way back either have died, moved away, or are no longer interested. I still love the game, although at times I get quite frustrated because I miss so many of what used to be easy shots.
