....... or heard it all before?

What do you think of these ideas to add appeal to your room:

1. Install a small cue repair shop and have somone run it.

2. How about 2 or 3 chair barber shop.

3. Dart league

I know some pools halls are going to be too small to do all of these things. Some are also large enough, sometimes too large. Most times all of the tables aren't in use anyway. So why not move a few around and have dart leagues along with the APA, BCA type leagues.

Any leagues you can bring in during the week is great, wether it be darts, pool, or bag-o. I have seen leagues where if you are part of the league you get 20% off table time on nonleague nights and merchandise. If you have a bar, even better to get people in on a usually dead night.

A cue repair shop would be great, but you have to be able to employ a qualified person to run it, if you have the room, you may be able to find a local cuemaker that is looking for space and work a deal for space for him to work and do repairs for your customers, talk about an attraction that would be...it seems like a win/win cuemaker gets exposure, and your clients get repairs, and exposure from the cuemaker if he hits it big.

Those are just my thoughts...

you can really bring business in with different leagues, apa, bca, inhouse, traveling bar, there are lot of options...

Darters drink a lot and don't complain about the quarters.
See if there's an operator in your area that sponsors leagues and will bring in the boards on a 50/50 split.
Ideally they will use Arachnid Galaxy II boards which are state of the art, light and easy to move when necessary.
You want at least 2 boards.

We have a Traveling Dart League in here. They play every other Wednesday and the 10 - 15 players drink and eat more than the 50 we get in our Pool League.

Foosball has also been successful as well. We use an Operator who provides the tables, advertises and runs the Twice a Week tournaments and we split the quarters which are a couple hundred each a week.

Definetly think outside the Pool Tables. During tough times like this people drink a lot more so if you have a bar, try to build that business. The best thing we did was invite all of the hooter's girls nearby (and there is probably one near you) in and we buy them their first drink each time they're here. So we get a built in clientele of skantily clad girls and their customers from work in tow.
