I bought the above light a few weeks back for my workshop. I think it would work really well for a pool table. It has a remote control, and is dimmable and color temperature adjustable. Its a little bit smaller than a typical 2x4 drop ceiling panel. The frame is meant to flush mount to a ceiling, and it looks more modern IMO with the housing and rounded corners. I will share some photos and video of it in the coming days.
If you had two of these end to end, I feel confident they would be plenty bright enough for a pool table.
To dim a traditional 2x4 LED, you need a low voltage 0-10VDC signal wire from your wall switch to the dimmer. That would be a big hassle to run that wire if not already there. There is also a wireless option for $150 that eliminates the need for that wire.
With this panel, everything is self-contained. You just wire it to 120VAC, and then control the dimming and color temperature with the remote control.
The color adjustment for me is a plus. At night time, I like to have my lights be a warmer color, and at daytime, a cooler color. Its easier on my eyes at night before bed. So when I work in my shop now, I put it on the warm color and low dim level if I'm working late. I can see the same scenario if I wanted to hit balls before bed.
The listing has a lot of options. Its the 72W Square one for $130 with the color option of "dimmable".
Its a clean look, offers lots of functions I personally want, and the price point is super good.
