Has anyone shot with any of the new OB "+" shafts? The ones that do not use laminated maple? I'm specifically interested in the classic version as I've been shooting with one of the old ones for a while and I love it. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
 
I haven't hit with one, but have spoken with Royce through the concept & designing stages. All I can say is that OB went to great lengths researching maple and even greater lengths trying to source a supplier for quality wood suitable for the endeavor. IIRC, the technology is similar to that of their laminated shafts, so there shouldn't be much difference in performance, but you'll have the natural feel, stiffness, and resiliency of a solid maple shaft. IMO, they have taken the best of both worlds and put it into these shafts. Like I say, I haven't hit with one. But for what it's worth, I know for certain the concept and design and testing has been in serious consideration for at least three years, so this isn't just a quick gimmick idea. The guys at OB know what they are doing and take price in their work. If this idea actually came to market then you can bet it's a top tier product.

Thanks for the insight. I think I'm going to order one. I'll update my post once I receive it and maybe do a short review!

I will, it may be like 2-3 weeks though because I'm going to have to order it monday, because they are at the BCA nationals and arent back in the office till monday. Then I have to have them send it off to schon to have the correct joint put in. But I'll let everyone know what i think of it.
 
If you have original with maple Ferrule the + will have a crisper hit and smother finish. I have all 3 as well as other LD shafts.
 
I tried out the OB-1+ and the Classic+ while in Vegas and could not stop shooting with the new Classic. It's a great shaft. I bought it on the spot.

My old 314 just became my new backup shaft lol.
