I think Mike is correct on this call. The last PFD cue I had looked just like this, and he called it his maxi-radial pin.....big pin, solid hit.

My PFD use MAXX radial pin .. the size is smaller than "normal" radial pin but some reason 3/8x10 thread shafts screw on to it .. loosely though.
 
MAXX Radial

I have three cues with the MAXX radial pin, and probaly the reason the 3/8-10 shafts fit is because the MAXX is a 10 TPI (threads per inch) radial as opposed to the standard 8. All I can say is these cues go together tight. I've actually had to put some paste wax on the pins and work the threads in a little to stop the squeaking when assembling the cue. I've never had a regular radial pin so I can't compare, but these are solid.
