Hello all. Here are some new pics of my ebony and ivory skip. Any suggestions as to how to make the pics better would be greatly appreciated! Well here they are:

Thank you for looking.

You and I have the same taste in cues...is that a solid flat face ivory joint? From the pic it looks like an Ivory sleeve over wood.

How do you like the snake skin wrap? How's the feel? I am considering an exotic wrap on my next cue but haven't decided yet.

Gorgeous and elegant cue.

Thanks for the compliments on both cues. The ivory joint appears to be a thick sleeve, although I'm not a 100% sure. Maybe Joe from classiccues.com wouild know since that's who I bought the cue from. The wrap is ringtail lizard and I really like the feel of lizard/leather wraps, although you might want to try it out on some cues because some of my friends like it and some don't.

I can't make any suggestions on how to make the picture's any better because I think those pictures are excellent. That is one beautiful cue. The colors and materials all work well together and that's what I like to see in the way a cue looks. Very nice cue.

Zack,
The ivory is threaded onto the joint, there is only a little wood however showing at the face of the joint.

Thanks Joe. That's what I thought but I figured you would know the definitive answer.

RZ,

How do you like the hit of the ivory/wood joint? I'm getting a flat face ivory joint on my next cue. My current cues are wood/wood and piloted ivory joint. Just curious.

I like it quite a bit. It's a softer hit that gives you more feel. I play mainly with the burl cue right now because it's near and dear to my heart since I desined it, but I love the way they both play. The difference in the hit is pretty suttle but it is there. It's pretty funny, the few people who I've let hit with the cues are divided, some like the ebony/ivory better and some like the burl/ebony better. I hope that helps a little.

Your two cues are definitely worth a 2nd visit, though I would take some extreme closeups of the point work since that's what Skip's famous for. Not sure how tight you can get in on the veneers, but close enough that you can see 3 or 4 veneer points at once.

Again, nice cues.

Si Si Si!!

Those points are 99.9%, imo. I see one minor misalignment at the 2nd veneer (maple), but even that is better than any I've seen with conventional veneers. It looks like the last pass just barely whisked away a bit of point.

I should be posting pics of mine soon, cept I don't have a digital camera. I'll find one for this purpose tho, lol.
