Joe Calluca is currently doing this cue for me.

The top picture is a little light but I think you can invision the final product. The second picture picture shows off the nice grain in the butt sleeve. The bottom picture is a sample of the amboyna with finish applied.

A few of the other details of the cue are as follows: 'buska rings, short ivory joint & ivory substitute for the butt cap. Rust colored, textured leather wrap. Three shafts. Two standard and one made from an OB-1 blank with matching ring.

I think the cue will be simple but beautiful. Just right for my player.

Still has to go through another cut. So we are still about 4-6 weeks away.

BEAUTIFUL WOOD! Keep us updated on the progress. Looks very Bluegrassesque to me. Congrats!

Thanks, I hand picked this piece amboyna at the Valley Forge show. Wanted the cue to be simple with the beauty of the wood to be the focal point.

That is going to make a sweet looking playing cue.
Looking forward to all the updates as it comes to life.

Thanks Myron.

Hopefully the next pictures I post will be the final product.

Jim, that's a great looking cue so far. Can't wait to see some finish on it. Amboyna is one of those woods that just jumps out at you and takes on new life with a good finish on it.

Thanks Sean. I was amazed when Joe sent me a sample of the wood with finish on it. I've never seen wood come to life like that before just because of a little finish applied.

I hope the piece of leather I sent him will be a nice fit. Wrap can either enhance or hinder the rest of the cue.
