Yes, bruin70 this game is a form of rotation. However rotation as we know it is a shoot to hit game, and the cue ball in hand rule equalizes the horrific rolls you get in rotation. Scoring a point per ball pocketed also allows for a continuous game and credit for all balls pocketed.
Again, nine ball is an extremely short game and doesn't challenge the players as it could. If you try rotation continuous in competition you'll see what I mean.
Just because it's a form of rotation doesn't mean that it isn't a viable alternative to other rotation games, of which nine ball is one.
I wish Danny K's wasn't so busy right now so that I could host a tournament. I won't be able to do that until February, and I'll see how it's received by some of the local pros.
It's the only game I enjoy playing anymore. Proficiency in nine ball depends way too much on the break, and then as we have mentioned the game (for most pros) is comparatively easy.
I like any input even if it is a little negative.
