new pool room advice

I'm buying a house and want to decorate the pool room. I have 3 electric art neon pieces and one neon clock in a shopping cart right now and I'm wanting to pull the trigger but wanted some advice first.

I will want to run the cords behind the wall and then plug them into the outlets so the cord doesn't show. Any tricks for this?

I will want them to all be powered by one switch. Will I need an electrician for this and if so how expensive is that job?

Replacing the neon. Anyone have any experience with this?

Does neon burn up a lot of electricity?

Electricians recommend against running electrical wire through a wall (in fact it may be against code - fire hazard). I saw one suggestion that it could be acceptable if you run it through a protective tube. I opted to have an electrician install an outlet in the space behind the unit (in my case I was mounting a TV). My guy installed outlets at about $65 apiece, if I recall correctly.

I'll guess ~$120. It's all somewhere in that range, I also had light-control work done.

I don't have any neon lights... I do have flourescent tubes over the pool table though. I googled for tips there, I'm sure there are good maintenance tips for neon as well.
