New Predators

I apologize in advance if this has been discussed already.

The last few months, Predator has been coming out with a bunch of new "revolutionary" cues as they put it. Has anyone had the pleasure of using one yet? I'm curious as to how much of an impact a different grip would have on one's game.

Sweaty Hands

I played with Earl Stricklands cue last night. He has a tennis wrap on it. Its pretty ugly. Its kind of lime green. He removed the linen wrap and put this on. But the thing tennis wrap doesnt go all the way to the top of where the linen wrap would go. About 2 1/2".

But I have sweaty hands and I loved it. Would I want it on my cue?
Don't know. Its hideous. But I would love to put a Winn xi7 golf grip on a cue. Those are great for golf. If they could just make them a little thinner.

I tried one of the Lucasi jump stick that had a similar grip and liked the feel. But again the stick was hideous.

Maybe I got just a touch of vanity in me. But I'm thinking about it.

i'll say the same thing i was telling a buddy of mine last night about the difference that a cue makes...

for most players if your cue is straight and you chalk your tip you can play to the top of your ability with a 50 dollar dufferin or a 1000 dollar predator.

But when you are an A player or better and you rely on getting good consistent action on the cue ball you are gonna need a solid hitting cue, low deflection and a great tip.

I personally always want to play with the best performing equipment I can find if I can afford it. Can I kill a deer with a Wal-Mart rifle? Sure. But I'd rather do it with a .40 caliber sniper rifle with laser sights.

i played with Earl's stick as well, and no it is not a predator. in fact he spent a good 5 minutes telling me why my Blak 1 was a piece of doodoo and why elk master tips are the best tips in the world... that's Earl, lol.

I will say, I've never shot a cue that played better than Earl's... it was truly amazing.

I haven't played with the new Predators but I was curious as to how the Lux wrap would feel. Because of my sweaty hands. Then I tried the Lucasi and Earl's stick with the tennis wrap. So thats was my .02 on the new wraps.
And Earl plays with a Mike Gulyassy Cue.

and I have heard from a good player that has tested a P3 that they play "amazing".
