I have been experimenting with Slip Stic, and it works very well.. It does not take the place of a shaft sealer but it will take the place of items like cue silk and products like it. It's easy to use and does not harm or pit the shaft, so whether you put it on by hand or machine it produces excellent results. Please visit the site.

Looks neat Mike - how much? Where to get some? I didn't see it priced on the web.

They are working on the packaging process now, go to their site and add yourselves to the list. The cost will be very reasonable. The site just went up, they'll be adding the pricing very soon. I just got the go ahead tonight to let you all know about it. I know it's questionable without the price posted yet but this is a very good product.

Is this what you've been using?

I've had the test product on my shaft for about 4 weeks now. It was very humid last week and many of the players were complaining. My cue and one other persons cue with SlipStic applied stayed completely slick with no change. I buff it with a dry towel once and a while.

So what happens to the oil from my hands?

My shaft gets a build-up of oil from my hands about every two days and I need to clean it with alcohol to remove the oil.

I wipe with a dry towel. Not as much hand oils collect on the shaft because SlipStic repels it. Spoke with one of the chemist about this. Even if you use alcohol (not required), you will not lose the effect of SlipStic.

Now that sounds like something I would really like!

Please post here when the product is available for purchase.

One other question...

I currently clean my shaft, then burnish it with a piece of leather. i.e. Rub my shaft until it gets warm. (This is starting to sound naughty! :D )

Is it recommended to burnish from time to time? Will heat bother the slipstick stuff?

You hve to reach about 200C before any change. You should not have a problem at all. Actually, I just tried to do the same myself - it is naughty.

No effect, just remained very slick.

How does it come, on a pre wetted pad or in a liquid form or paste? What will the price be and how much will you get for the price? Will it come in different sizes, the container on the web site looks pretty large and not something you pour from. It looks more like a paste wax container.

It comes in liquid form in a small 5 gram bottle. It has an applicator and storage compartment for applicator (2.5 inches in diameter) Drop a few drops from the bottle onto the applicator and quick wipe your cues shaft. Place the applicator in the storage container not to waste material. Enough applications for about 4 - 6 months assuming you play often. $14.95 US - everything is contained in the small round container.

I never imagined what a resource pool this forum could be. I have been receiving incredibly helpful calls and emails with suggestions on SlipStic. Thanks so much. For those that are not aware, I did not know Mike Webb except by face at some of the Joss Tournaments. I sent him a sample from our first batch for him to try. I actually did not expect him to do much more than to give me an opinion, which I heard is always straight forward. Thanks Mike and everyone in this forum.

And I asked them at slipstic if this stuff was toxic - in the least.

They infatically stated NO - Will not harm eyes or skin and will not cause any damage if someone swallows it.
