Flawless execution and incredible attention to detail...just the way cues are meant to be made.

Drool Drool Drool...

How does one go about getting one of these Ron Haley cues?

this guy is fascinating. it goes to show you don't have to be wildly fancy to be unique. all it takes is conviction to a point of view. and of course, taste helps.

......"quiet elegance"......

Congratulations, and thanks for sharing these outstanding examples of Ron Haley's cues. I recognize those veneers as being each outlined with his paper veneers. Very unique and beautiful. I have two of his cues, one being from the same batch as yours, and with these same type of veneers. As perfect as Haley cues fit/finish is and with their overall flawless workmanship, I would like to add that they hit every bit as good as they look.

are these "paper veneers" unique to haley.

and again,,,,he is a machinist or something, is he not? builds only a handful as a hobby or something?

I'm not sure. He's the only one that I know of. The paper veneers are very thin and used as outline for the others. The paper is highly compressed and is as hard as wood.

Ron only builds a very limited number of cues each year. He is the owner of a large fabricating company, and truely builds cues only for his passion to do so.

I like to refer to these veneers as "contrast veneers". They are not unique to
Haley, but I'm certain he was instrumental in bringing the concept to fruition. They certainly add a unique dimension to the point construction.

Charlie is correct, Ron is very passionate about his craft and a true gentleman in every sense of the word. He builds around 12-16 cues per year.

Only 12-16 cues per year? Why so few...did he run out of paper?

Is that city living starting to cause you to be a wise guy? We all know you're just a hick from the south. ;)

Mr. Worminator (if that is your REAL name),
I have no idea what you mean by that.

All kidding aside, I think all of the Haley cues I have seen here on AZ are absolutely gorgeous. I love the traditional / old style type of cues and Ron really seems to be able to capture that essence but with a contemporary touch to it. These two cues are no exception. Jeez, just look at the sharpness of those inlays on the ebony cue...Drool drool drool.

Someday soon, I hope to have one of these beauties.

I don't really care for the paper lines in the top cue, but boy they make a statement in the bottom cue with the bright veneers. It may be hard to convince the notive cue buyer that they are not thick glue lines:D I love the cocobola cue.

Worm, while this ivory window cue of yours is absolutely gorgeous and the depiction of sheer elegance and grace in design, I have to admit I'm still a huge fan of Dak21st's window cue on the far right. That cue is gorgeous! You still have that one, don't you Dak?

Jealous as hell,
Brian

Yes I do and I hope to add another in the spring 2007

I'm the proud owner of cue # 128. The second from the right with the red veneers. Mr. Haley is building me a masterpiece from 100 year old Brazilian rosewood. It will be a looker. I'll post pics when finished.

I think the contrast veneers in the ebony cue are nice. I am sure in person they stand out more than they appear here in the photos.

As for the rosewood cue, the veneers do really jump out at you don't they. I like this one very much. Maybe Worminator would be nice enough to send me this cue so I could examine it up close.
