Butt is 14.6oz, shaft 1 is 4.1oz and shaft 2 is 4.5oz, .5" linen melamine ferrules- balance point is 18.5 inches from butt - all per my requested specs.

Cue is bumperless and undrilled, no added weight or reduced weight - weight was controlled through the butt diameter and wood selection (full splice purple heart).

Glass smooth ring work and ferrules and nice smooth green spec linen.

Want a nice cue and don't want to spend a lot of cash? Give them a call - they'll make anything you want, smile and say "Thank you for your business". Gotta love these guys.

Looks awesome.
I finally had a chance to try a friend's full splice recently and I'm definitely ordering one.
There's not question about this.
I was thinking about the Josey full splice and I need to contact them.
I also love the thinner butts. I like nothing over 31 mm at the very end of the butt cap just to give you some idea.

Congratulations on a really nice cue.

That's a really nice looking cue!

Thanks, I really like. Truth is, I like simple cues - the simpler, the better.

The idea was to create a "time machine" cue of sorts, but using modern materials and adhesives. Think of this cue as a tru-balance, engineered to a players specs. Which was a very common thing to do with tru-balance cues 50 years ago. Except the points are a bit longer on this one :-)

That will play as well as any cue out there and will play BETTER than any of us,LOL.You can for sure get a more expensive cue.But to get one that anyone can promise you that plays better is up for debate !!!

Very nice stuff !! In my opinion this is the most underrated cue maker in the world, and like you said, full custom work in a timely and polite manner.

They also make the finest hard cases I have ever owned .. Think I paid
$40 bucks for my 1x1.

Nice bumperless cue. Got me interested. Did you deal direct? How long to deliver? Can you show the butt end?

I called them directly, only way to go really. They're super nice to deal with. Took exactly the time frame they quoted, 1 month. I can show the end of the cue but it's nothing special - I had them leave it raw so I could have a buffalo nickel inlaid into it. That's not really in their wheelhouse. They would smooth and finish it if you want.

I told Kim st Schmelke they're would be a flood of bumperless orders coming in...

Very nice looking cue. May I ask how much it cost, because that was one of the reasons you showed us the cue. What might be a good price to some, might not be to another. Johnnyt

That's true. PM me your email and I'll send the build sheet and invoice.

Nice looking cue, I'm sure it was a good price also.

Only thing that would turn me off is the grain on the shafts and forearm, I like mine tighter and more figured.

I used to sell Schmelke cues. They are a great cue for the money. Definitely one of the best values among cue production companies. And they also definitely do not get enough consideration among cue buyers.

And their box cases also among my favorites of case makers. Always well made and very durable.

Very nice cue. And I bet it was still under $500. Might have to order a new one myself.

My current Schmelke is held together by Gorilla glue when I dropped it on a concrete floor a couple years ago, with very visible glue lines (always put too much glue on stuff for some reason)

Thanks, I really, really like it. It was significantly less than $500. The straight taper shaft is a straight pool machine. Had a really good run last night.

Funny story about last night... 3 guys, all super young were playing 9 ball on a 7ft table, I was on a GC. I came in and they we're really whoopin' it up on their table. I played for about an hour or so and was having a good run and one of the kids came up and asked about this cue - said it was to plain for him and said he didn't think he'd like a cue like this. I asked him if it was because it was plain compared to his and he said "a little bit, but I just don't think it's a very good cue". I asked him why he though that and what exactly influenced his thought process... he said "because your cue doesn't get very good action on the table" he said "I've been watching you and it doesn't look like it gets good english and you haven't done any draw shots and the cue ball doesn't follow or run far". "Looks like it's only good if the cue ball is right where you need it to be for the next shot".

I think I've lived too long.

I thought it might be less than $500, but was not sure if they charged a little more based on your specs. Appears they didn't, and just did exactly what you asked for.

My Schmelke plays just fine, glue lines and all. I tend to like shooting with it now just because. Like having a junker car that just runs good ;) Though, I'll pull out my fully restored Willie Hoppe on special occasions.

Oh, good story about the bangers. Too funny.

Let me get this straight. Because you were able to play perfect shapes on previous balls you never had to use much English and so this kid thought that you were not good because of that? Am I missing something here, the whole point of pool is to stay in line and use natural angles as much as possible, the less you have to do with the cue ball the higher % chance you will run out. That's how the top Asian pro's plays, they don't ever have to use much English and when they do use English it's really not a hard shot at all.
