I actually saw a batch of those style of cues when I was at their shop a year or so ago. They probably had about 30-40 in different variations ready to go out at the time. For me that is one of the better variations.

Yes. Most cue repair/cuemakers just order 14mm and turn them to match the shaft/ferrule. Centering a 13mm on a 13mm (or 12.5mm even) is almost impossible and frustrating. There's no room for error. Using a 14mm and turning it down is much more efficient than trying to center something to a gnat's ass measurement.Does this mean that when the cue is retipped the person replacing the tip, starts with a 13 mm tip and uses a lathe to widdel a 13 mm tip down to 12.7 mm?
Yes, that's what I was saying. No, Schon predated Tiger products. Schon switched from single-layer wb to Everest a few yrs back. They haven't used ivory/micarta for ferrules for a long time.
Great cue. Same model McCready used in early 2000s and played so jam up with (used a Moori Med tip).I just ordered a STL - 7. The shaft is described as a 12.7 mm. The tip (Le Pro) is described as 13 mm. Does this mean that when the cue is retipped the person replacing the tip, starts with a 13 mm tip and uses a lathe to widdel a 13 mm tip down to 12.7 mm?
Thanks in advance,
