I received a new South West cue from this afternoon. I placed the order for 2 cues in 1999. The first arrived todat and the other is about 3 months away. Can you believe a 10 year wait. This one is ebony into cocobola wjith white, green and orange vaneers. A and B rings with custom matching joint protectors, white with brown speck wrap. It really will be hard to part with but I will likely be putting this up for sale on ebay. For now I want to just sit and admire the workmanship. I will post pics soon.

yes! please post some pics. I have one that I bought on the secondary market and I LOVE IT! I also have another on order but it won't be ready for years and years and years and years.... LOL

Hah. I want to order a cue from a lot of makers but can not stand anticipation. I think for 2700 you can find a darn nice one and not wait at all. How much does Southwest charge for a new cue? An estimate would be fine.

Attached are pics.

The current wait time from the time you put your name on the list with Laurie until the time you receive your new Southwest cue is 9-10 years.

For a standard 6 point Southwest cue, you can expect to pay $2300 and up, depending on number of veneers, ring selection, wrap, etc.

10 years? Do they grow their own trees and cows?
I'd be afraid myself of the maker wouldn't live that long.

Any other cue makers take this long or longer?

Barry Szamboti isn't taking orders any longer. Basically, if you want one of his cues and he doesn't have you in his order book, you have to buy in the secondary market. I suppose the wait for a Black Boar or a Bill Schick cue would be much the same also.
