New Table Arriving next week ... But

It isn't a Diamond or Brunswick GC. It's an Olhausen Hampton 8'x4' (furniture table with Simonis Tournament Blue cloth). It was a compromise, for appearance sake, with my wife of almost 50-years. That's how one stays married. Mostly for use by my grandkids but it will also give me something to do to get me out of my recliner. I know it's not the table most of you would have but it's the best I could do. The installing mechanic is said to be among the best in town but time will tell. I'm wondering approximately how long such an installation may take?

Don't apologize but if you do need man tips on wife management, PM me. Chit just showing up prevents these things, works great on pups can also work for tables.

BIL bought an 8 foot Kasson table and put down new Simonis cloth and we trade off weekends between that and my GC1. Just as happy to shoot on his table as mine. But mine is better. :giggle:

I have had an elegant 8ft furniture table for 20 years. It is perfectly level with high quality bumpers and cloth. It looks and plays great in my home. If I had it all to do over, I wouldn't change a thing. I hope you really enjoy your new table and it makes your house more of a home...

olhausen are great tables. they do rattle the balls if hit hard. but the table is great.

make sure you get top rated cloth. most sales will include crappy cloth and you pay for an upgrade if you want it.

If it's at all possible, see if he can replace the stock facings with 3/16 60 durometer neoprene. It might not be an option, but it's a nice improvement right out of the gate. It also has to be done before the rails are covered. I have an Olhausen and I love it, but the stock pocket facings leave a lot to be desired. Replacing facings is something I'd think any table mechanic could do.

If the rails are already covered, it shouldn’t take more than 2 hours for a two-man crew or maybe another 60-90 minutes if they have to install the cloth on the rails on site.

Nice table.

My lady had an Olhausen 8x4 installed in her home, then learned to play.
It turned out pretty good, she's in the record books.

I'll ask the table mechanic about this. Does anyone know if the Olhausen rails will be already covered when the table is delivered to the house?

I had to be careful of how much time I spent at the home table, too much playing was bad for the marriage.... ;)
She not happy having you at home where you cant get in too much trouble and yet out of her hair at the same time??? My wife is ecstatic that we have a table in the basement for me to shoot on.
