New Tiger 'Fortis' cf shaft......

I’m interested, when will they be available?
FB'd them and they said available now. Have to check with dealers. Full retail is $550(ouch!) but they said dealers often sell at a discount.

I love they name one semi-pro.
Quasi pro,
not quite pro,
almost pro,
kinda sorta pro.

Tiger makes quality products. The name just makes me chuckle. Before someone points it out, i know it is about the taper, but someone new to pool looking at these could well think "do i want the professional one or the semi professional ?". Marketing can sometimes backfire.

I think it's a strange choice. I would have rather seen 1 taper in 2 diameters instead of 2 tapers each w/ their own diameter. Also not sure why they have different tips on each or why, if they're going to do that, you couldn't choose your tip at the time of purchase.

They've done it that way with their wood shafts so it really doesn't surprise me. As for the tips, just guessing here but they probably did actual on-table testing and determined tip choice. For near 600bux you should be able to pick your tip imo.

Good points & that also reminds me that it's a strange move to launch at the highest MSRP on the market when other companies have been establishing themselves in this space for several years already.

I wonder is this the same material ferrule that their new tiger ice breaker tip is made of, same orange in color I think. Interesting enough people tend to like this bown/yellow/orange or even creamy color when is comes to micarta used on wood shafts, but that's a different story, people may just not be bothered by the color of micarta because of the hit. Still Something is always intriguing by something done different, I think Tiger stands out there for sure.

I have the 12.5 LD model. I had the opportunity to hit with both when I visited Tiger before the new year. I much preferred the LD. This shaft plays amazing and so far I really like it, although I have only gone out to play with mine twice since I got it. Great feeling shaft extremely low deflection. It’s feels better than any other carbon shaft I have played with. I am liking the orange ferrule. All in all super happy with it so far.

$550.00 is big bucks, I will not be staying in any line for one if the super duper shafts.

Tiger does make great Tips, they are fair priced. Work wonderful, and last well.👍

So, how about a review? How is the ld on this if you compare to other ld shafts?

Any more reviews? The orange ferrule sure is different But I am sure it it makes sighting pretty good. But if you could compare it to feel of any other carbon shafts, sound and action/power. That would be much appreciated, there is not much information on the tiger fortis what so ever.

I have noticed too you can’t find one for sale anywhere and if you search for it doesn’t really pull anything up about it. U can only go to there website and see it but doesn’t give a price. You would think they would really be trying to get the name and product out there. I want to get one but don’t wanna waste my money on it. Does anyone have one currently that has a a honest opinion on it.

I am still very much impressed with the Fortis over my 12.9 Revo's. I have not done any formal deflection tests, but I can say I switched to the Fortis and have not any problems with aiming from day one and feeling like I needed to adjust.. So my gut says that the deflection is about the same. Everything else has been better with the Fortis. The feel of the shots is much improved. It feels more solid like a wood shaft. The shaft has remained super slick and does not becoming gummy feeling from chalk (I use Kamui Roku) like every other carbon shaft I have tried. To be clear, almost every carbon shaft I have used feels nice and slick when new. They all wipe clean very easily. But after while, every one ends up with chalk sticking to them and they all have a gummy stickiness that develops until cleaned again, at least for me and my chalking routine I guess. I really dislike this feeling so I started using a glove so as not to be distracted by this as it develops while playing. I have not used a glove since buying the Fortis and it still glides nice and smooth. This has been the best surprise of this shaft. The Orange Ferrule has not bothered or distracted me. I was afraid it might after having played with the Revo for so long, but it has been a non issue, and now I think I prefer it. Over all, the Fortis has totally blown me away. I am not going to suggest it make me any better, but I am enjoying the game much more using it. So far it has exceeded all expectations and I highly recommend this shaft to anyone.

Great write up thanks a lot. How about energy transfer, is it easier/harder/same to draw or move the ball around?

I think that the energy transfer is very similar. Moving the ball feels about the same. I do feel like I have way more confidence I. This shaft. I think it’s the solid feel I get with it or the fact it’s more consistent than the Revo. There is some randomness that occurs when you have to hit hard with most carbon fiber cues that the Fortis does not exhibit. It’s hard to explain but it something they demoed at Tiger and now I have seen it exhibited in other shafts besides my own Revos. Anyways, the extra confidence and consistency make moving the ball a bit easier for me.

Could mm and taper come into effect on the fortis vs. the revo? Do you just feel like your are more precise with the fortis being it is smaller? I am just curious if this can come into the factor of how you'r more comfortable with it.
