new tip?

Having some trouble with my Le Pro tip ie: miscues. I used Le Pro for many years. I changed to layered tips when they first came out. I believe they were 7 layer back then. Upon my recent return to pool I needed a new tip. 9 years out of the loop I opted for "Old faithful" Le Pro. It could simply be a lemon, but I am not pleased with it's performance or it's unwaranted miscues. I am meticulous with the maintenance and upkeep of my tip & I chalk before each and every shot without fail. Part of my pre-shot routine. Being aware that AZB members are certainly more current than I with todays products I am asking for your imput on this topic. At this point I do want to spend an inordinate amount on a tip. But I do want solid, predictable performance that coupled with proper maintenance does not hearald unwarranted miscues. Your personal perspectives on this subject will be greatly appreciated. Much obliged  Billy Bones

Triangle tips are a solid, consistent tip for cheap. It will do everything you ask it to do. I tease my friends who draw shorter than I do with their Kamui tips.

I'd say you simply got a bad Le pro....

The new layered tips are nice but they are not the end all be all and with all the flavors you could try about a dozen different ones before you find something you like all the way thru it's life cycle......

As far as the triangles go I thought alot of folks were saying there QC was gone and getting consistent ones was just a memory....

I've tried morri, moori2, moori3, moori4, wizard, kamui, elk master, Triangle, Rocky, Emerald, Everest, Future tips, Predator Phenolic, Icebreaker, Samsara, Champion, malavia, sniper... and a few more I can't even recall in all different hardnesses... The original moori was the nuts... The kamui stacks up pretty well but I got tired of trying to chase the dragon and went back to my tried and true Le Pro.. It's just as good today as it was 20 years ago so I am happy.... For now at least... I'm sure the next "it plays like an original moori" tip is about to hit the market any day.....
