I thought I would take a minute to introduce myself. My name is Mike Eck and I live about 40 miles west of Chicago. Some of you may know me from local tournaments. I'm considered a pretty decent player but always looking to improve. I have a full time job and am a part time woodworker. I've been playing around with some pretty cool designs for pool triangles/racks. I've gone so far as to create a website...www.xquisitebilliards.com... I'd be interesed in any feedback regarding the idea.

It seems quite a few of you will be at the Derby Dity Classic. I went with a friend last year and as luck would have it we played each other in the 2nd round. That sucked.

Good luck to everyone going. See Ya there.

HI Mike, NEwbies around here are perceived to have the plague for a while (one newbie welcoming another BTW). Stick around a while, fade it, and the community will eventually acknowledge you. (I Hope) :D

This is de ja vu all over again!

What happened to the other thread that already included welcomes?

Maybe the power has already gone to Deputy Dawg's head :p

LOL, it's not quite that bad...unless you say something really stupid! :p

Welcome aboard Mike. I would imagine since you're very active in the pool community of Chicago that you know Bob & Eydie Romano?

Those are beautiful. They would be troublesome with straight pool, but great for other games! I loved every design! Nice Job!

this is weird i already welcome chicagomike actually i was the first to, and now i don't see my post lol. Anyways i will do it again Welcome Aboard, The board is very friendly  and informative.

Welcome Mike, I used to make racks a long time ago....might I suggest fingerjointing the corners...they are nice looking anyways....:D

You Suck! You'll ALWAYS suck! There is NO HOPE for you!

That's the standard greeting for all new commers, least that's how it was when I first joined over a year ago. Just blow it off.

NICE RACK!!!! would rather be saying that to a girl poster than a guy poster... but, eh, what the hell.

Seriously though, welcome to the board. Word to the wise, show respect first, you'll get most of it back.

Don't do as I did. ALWAYS post facts, fiction will be seen through by the old schoolers.

Hey Mike ~ Guess who? lol! Glad to see you have things up and running.

Windy City Open is coming in about 2 weeks, hope to see you there!

I like the idea of the finger joints, but for added strength I use screws with plugged holes in the corners. I use the same or contrasting woods to give it a nice finished look. I figured the blade might dig into the screws while making finger joints.
Thanks for the idea.

Hey Mike ~ Got your PM, great talking with you. Congratulations on getting married.

Mike will be a huge asset to this board!
