New to Me ~ a Lambros Bacote Sneaky

So how often does one get the "chills" from an inanimate object?

Well, it just happened to me. Unlike, say, purchasing a new vehicle. That's the "something new" giddiness. This also had that, but that aside is what I'm trying to get at. Today I received my Lambros, which I purchased from Duane through eBay. I actually sat on my lawn and waited for this thing to arrive. Crazy huh? But true. And OMG is it ever worth it.

Before I go any further, I'd like to give a BIG shout out to Duane Remick!! It was such a painless transaction. No worries what-so-ever dealing with this fine gentleman.

Cue was pack to the teet. So perfect. I busted it open and got to the goods. There inside bubble wrap and a soft case was the cue I had bid on. Straight and uber clean. As advertised. After inspection it was straight to the shooting gallery.

WOW!!! :eek::thumbup::D

The Review Portion

...now that pics are out of the way,

19oz. A very close to 13mm shaft with Lambros taper. It's a more gradual taper unlike the Preds and Mezzes. I wouldn't call it Euro either, but however I try to describe it, bottom line is the taper contributes plenty to the way it hits. I'll get into that later. I believe Mike cores all his cues that aren't sneakies. I'm pretty sure this one's spliced. I removed the bumper and all I saw was bacote. 3/8-10 Ultra Joint. Phenolic collars and joint sleeve. Curly maple forearm. And I think he chinced out on the finish. 'Cuz I can feel the curls when I run my fingers along it. OK, the fun stuff:

-The draw- straight and effortless.
-The follow- great feel with long strokes and carries good action.
-The stun- AWESOME!!! crazy how much control I get from this thing.
-The juice- plentiful. And totally controllable and predictable.
-The balance- I don't want to say perfect, but hey, why not?!?
-The joint- tight and very reassuring.

I had my way with it for about 5hrs. Pretty much grinning the entire time =)

Understood that "HIT" is subjective and it differs much between persons. This one happens to suit me very well. This cue plays right into my style. Where as others have come close, I feel that I'm able to express it easiest with this one. This is me raving about it after only 5hrs. I can't wait for all the fun to come.

Thank you gentlemen! It is a pleasure and an honor to be a part of the Lambros Family.

But is this like one of those MOB or Yakuza things where I can't leave. Or if I do, I'll have to give you my pinky or something like that?? =)

All joking aside, I LOVE THIS THING!!! For those that don't know, find out about it. For those that do know, get one!!

'Nuff said. I'll see you all on the tables.

PS, thanks for all then greenies!!

Duane Remick from eBay. He's on here as well. Real name as username. I have absolutely no problems sending other members his way for business. That man is solid dealings!

Thanks Lisa.

It shoots better than it looks. It almost (almost) feels like cheating. Fellow shooters around me are wondering how a new stick can elevate my abilities. I believe it's the confidence it instills. Shooting without fear is amazing. I have to give thumbs up to the engineering that's gone into crafting this stick of doom. I find the grains and knots in the bacote mesmerizing.

Lambros cues

The guys from BW say that the Lambros hit is as good as ANY in pool. The ultra-joint and unique shaft taper are usually the features that credit for this cue's performance. I've been trying to pick up a new SP for a while now. BW had one that lasted for 2 days and sold at msrp. The bacote wood looks awsome....good shooting, sir.

Thanks Lisa.

Many people under-estimate just how good a playing wood that bocote is. Most just cannot get past the look of the wood. There is no middle ground with folks when it comes to bocote, they either love the look, like myself, or they think it's the ugliest wood on the planet. Irregardless of the perceived beauty or not, it makes for one heckuv great playing cue!
